I have zero issue with the IET (might as well say what it's used as across the board rather than a local brand name) If DTG made it we could use it on all sorts of routes, but the main issue is there are few routes in game which would suit it
before we go too off topic though, i’d love to see a British mainline on train sim world, preferably wcml or ecml. and it should be longer than 50 miles, probably in that sweetspot of 70-120 miles
Don't think I'm understanding you on this one. What I was saying is that there aren't many routes in TSW which IETs run on to give a decent experience of them...
ohhhhhh, i must’ve misread the quote. yes i agree , which is why london - peterborough is a good start or newcastle - edinburgh
You've gone in circles. Kings X - Peterborough would need loads of trains we don't have Newcastle - Edinburgh the same we need some related routes so we can get more stock on board BEFORE making the loaded routes so we get the relevant traffic levels
Even if it has to be done in multiple DLCs and takes time, that would be absolutely fine with me. It's what a lot of players myself included want and we all know that these things can't all be done at once
adding trains on ecml south isn’t a long shot at all, in fact making other routes would be longer than just adding the trains in game
ECML south doesn't exist in game, and if they made it, it would have to go to Tring, MK or Birmingham, so the existing bit (Bakerloo) would likely not be used at all So you're back to the point of DTG having to make loads of assets to get a very busy route to look busy at all
Yeah my bad, I meant WCML, but then that makes your statement of : more problematic... ECML south would very much be "a long shot" as bar the electrostars (which presumably would need to be rebuilt so they're OHLE rather than 3rd rail) we have very little of the stock used
387s are already in the game, it won’t take dtg much to reskin it and keep it with its pantograph up. it’s not that hard
They would also need to ensure that simugraph works to take power from the panto as the power settings would be different, same as with the 395 Not sure if they've done that for the existing 37xs which run on that line
they have because i tried to run a 387 on bcc and the pantograph did work, power was being taken, it’s just the third rail that’s a bit weird because you can run it on non electrified routes
Was the physics correct for a panto version? It should accellerate much quicker under the wires (and not be limited to 100)
yes it is , but because of the nature of the limits on bcc, i couldn’t get it to 125, and on gwe express the OHLE isn’t good enough for me to try it because i’ve used a 395 on it and the pantograph doesn’t touch the catenary
Don’t Xc trains stop at Gloucester Cheltenham Worcestershire parkway bromsgrove university and Birmingham new street ? An extension to Cardiff/Bristol or great Malvern/Hereford would be better ?
Many of them skip all of the stations between Cheltenham and Birmingham, so some XC do stop at some of those stations
In Gloucester you get normally 2 services that need to change ends, one early morning and one late evening, and only other XC service you see here is the Cardiff Nottingham runs in the 170's, Virgin knocked Gloucester off most of its services years ago because it took 9 minutes for turn around on every service as it acts like a terminal for the north south long distance trains, only when the Severn Tunnel is closed do we get steady stream of 220, 221's now.
