Because only one train at a time can run between Ormskirk and Preston and between Kirkham & Wesham and Blackpool South due to those lines being single, so they have limited capacity.

Been playing this tonight. I can't wait for the electrics to be added to this route as AI (and hopefully some loco swaps as well).
The route really feels weird without the 86 and 87 at Preston.
I know JT said they hadn't started on this, but they need to!

The should slightly change that. I was driving a free roam Hst to Blackpool south and found another train was blocking me at a red signal on the single track. If it waits at the previous signal I can pass it.

Before I buy this dlc, Have loco changes at Preston been added to this route, from 87's to 47's that ran between Euston and Blackpool North.

Superelevation on Fylde junction, by Preston cathedral, curves are well overdue aswell. Immersion breaking without them.

I’ve noticed recently I’m getting quite a few timetable services that spawn you on foot in random places across the route rather than in the cab of your train.

Has there been any kind of recent "update" to this route ?

Played for the first time in ages, earlier today, and the sounds inside the cab of the Pacer were all over the place. Looking straight ahead out the cab sounded fine, but slightest turn to the left and the sound level went through the roof. Sounded wildly different again even just the slightest turn to looking out the right.

Never used to do anything like that before (Xbox Series X).

Actually playing it reminded me why I've really gone off the game recently. Was happy enough just to get the service done and back onto Planet Coaster 2.

Hopefully the enthusiasm will return when (if) the core issues ever get fixed, but until then it just doesn't feel as engaging as it used to :(

It's used by workers at the nearby nuclear fuel plant.

There's a couple of services in the morning from Preston to Blackpool North stopping at Salwick and a couple in the evening from Blackpool North to Preston stopping at Salwick

It’s pretty much like that now too. Great place for seeing any real life rail tours heading to or from Blackpool though.

The Salwick services are Parliamentary services so only a few trains will actually call at the station during the day.

I wouldn’t describe the Salwick service as a Parliamentary service. A Parliamentary service is a service which is operated only to avoid the need to go through the process of closure. If you’re going to do that, you provide one train a week, and you run it when it’s operationally convenient because the intention isn’t for anyone to use it.

Salwick has several trains a day, at sensible, useable times. It's a limited service, but it’s designed to be used, not just to avoid the need for closure.

There's only one Salwick service in TSW AFAIK though.

I did a service that stopped at Salwick earlier (forget which one exactly but it was at like 7am and was from Manchester Victoria) and when I looked on the map there were at least a few more that morning towards Blackpool (Plus one in the afternoon), only seemed to be one towards Preston (Manchester Victoria) at about 5pm though, unless one had already stopped and departed that way

Because Northern Transpennine came out years before Blackpool Branches did.

NTP is set in 1983 I think, before the Pacers were even built.

NTP is set in 1984, the Pacer didn't come along until mid 1985 with Manchester getting the first batch (all in GMPTE orange).

Some artistic license could have been used but NTP itself was created a long time ago for TSW2 so would need considerable effort to re-timetable with various substitutions - I've tried but I honestly don't know what I am doing so gave up :/
