I don't think that will happen, but hopefully it happens and if so, it would be nice if they did it for RSN AND RRO as well.
I hope we can see some 455’s at Victoria at some point. I think they look fab. Not sure if they ever ran to Brighton though.
Is there any freight trains on this line in real life?
I believe there’s CSX, so maybe SPG can add a freight layer to it.
There is some CSX on the line. But whether that's gonna be included in the timetable or not, best to find that out later when it's properly announced.
So there's already a few things I'm excited to see with this route. South Station operations will be very interesting as I think we'll get some nice switching operations on the regional trains reversing direction. If the Stoughton branch is included that would be a very fun little excursion and add some variety. I'm much less hopeful for the Foxborough/Gillett Stadium but that would also be fun and might provide more room for CSX traffic.
If that leaked info is right, I am disappointed with the German route. No new rolling stock as compared to the other two routes. But I am looking forward for it for the NEC and the Acela that is sure to follow
It could be... we all have CSX locos, it would be the DLC for DLC situation as they're in the base game.
Still, if they did put in freight in the timetable (if layered from Sand Patch), I would only see the GP38-2 as the only workable loco for this line (as it was with NEC: NY that had the GP38 included).
NEC:NY had the SD38, a road engine. The GP38 these days is pretty much a switcher, not often used in mainline service any more. The AC4400 is the TSW CSX engine you would most likely see on the main line (even it is getting long in the tooth, in a world of SD70MACs and ES44s)

As pointed out above no, it wasn't, but also the kind of freight that uses this section DOES use GP38-2's all the time. You're right that they're no longer used on heavier mainline freight, but this isn't heavy mainline freight, just some locals, which *do* use GP38-2's a lot.

Still, my point holds: if the freight traffic is to be anything beyond yard movement, an AC4400 or C40-8W would be more appropriate. Or even an SD40-2, although one sees fewer and fewer of them these days.
Again, your point doesn't hold, they don't use more than 4 axle units on this. Mostly GP40-2's for some reason it seems, but really the GP38-2 is close enough.
GP38-2's aren't confined to yards, they also work branches and short local trains, which is what they'd be doing here.
I do wonder if they'll use this as an excuse to bring back the GP40-2 DLC for this route?
Indeed, a Road-Switcher is still a Road-Switcher *by design*. Man, I would love to see the GP40 again, but since that hasn't been revived like the ACS-64 (yet). As you said Raildan, a GP38-2 is close enough for local runs for this kind of line (same for other GP38s on other routes in TSW so far).

Yep, but MBTA also owns some double decker coaches, like these (can’t tell if they’re Kawasaki or Hyundai Rotem cars as I’m not familiar with them)
That's one of the possibilities, but they also own Bi-Level Coaches as well, and sometimes the consists can get mixed to include both the single level and bi-level equipment.
I will also assume the F40PH-3 will come with this newer scheme.

Personally, I'd view the bi-levels as more likely, as it seems that they're a bit more common on this line (it is their busiest line, after all). It would be GREAT if DTG also included a single-level coach for those mixed consists (I wouldn't expect anything more than just a single type of those), but it might be more likely to only come with a bi-level coach and cabcar, either the kawasaki or hyundai-rotem ones idk
Well, I understand what you're saying, but a "road-switcher" in the 40s when the term was coined or the 60s when the GP38 came out envisioned a rather different world, where 4 axles was considered enough for mainline work.
The SD90MAC was also called a road switcher, but I doubt they ever did much shunting.
We might get a new MBTA rail car in a dlc, such as an HSP46.

Exactly what I was thinking, there's enough variety to have multiple loco + car dlc like that, we could get an HSP46 AND a GP40MC each with their own cabcar + coach

As attractive as the idea is, I have little doubt that when DTG do a loco DLC for Boston-Providence it will be the Acela.

Well yeah obviously, but it's possible they might not stop at one DLC per route here.
After we get the Acela, the class 7-00, and the ICE-T, they could go for round 2 on these, after all they have to make up for selling it at such a low price somehow

Certainly there are a lot of US customers starving for passenger.
It's not just you, the F40PH-3C (and the F40PH-2C) has been rebuilt with a frame extension to accommodate the separate HEP equipment, whereas the F40PH-2CAT just got stuck it on the back.
It may be one of those lengthened to accommodate a separate HEP generator

-MBTA pack (Features 1 locomotive, and whatever coach doesn't come as default with the route.)
How about Bundling Acela with Avelia Liberty as the Northeast Corridor high-speed train Pack. Max speed for Avelia Liberty with Tilt is 265 km/h (165 mph) without tilt is 350 km/h (220 mph) while Acela Express is 240 km/h (150 mph). If you want to use European train comparisons it's this Acela Express 240 km/h (150 mph) vs DB BR182 230 km/h (145 mph) then Avelia Liberty 265-350 km/h (165-220 mph) vs TGV Duplex and ICE 3 DB BR403/406 320-330 km/h (200-205 mph).
I am extremely looking forward to TSW 2: Rush Hour, especially NEC: Boston - Providence. I was hoping they would include an additional stop for the Northeast Regional service to Kingston, which make the route 65 miles. However, I doubt that’s going to happen but I am glad to see Amtrak though and this is a day 1 purchase.

Wouldn't matter, because no trackage on the route is rated for more than 150mph.
Besides, the Liberty (a) isn't in service yet, so impossible to research, and (b) is pig-ugly.
A couple thoughts from the stream: The Stoughton branch being included is great news, that should provide a nice little change of pace in an otherwise very fast route. Cab car is great, it would have been a mess without that. It sounded to me that the single level coaches are the only MBTA cars included here which a tiny bit disappointing, but MBTA does effectively run random assortments of stock so I'll just hope a future loco DLC might get bi-levels included.
