If only TSG had bandwidth for this old gem: Baureihe 120. I think i have an Expert Line 120 on my TSC, but any 120 on TSC should give a taste for this. To me it is like a missing link across lok generations. Wikip de says they still run on Hanse-Express or a network bounded by Hamburg and Rostock. I will go track this down on DB web when i get thru this next round of medical issues ... about 10 days from this afternoon ... old age ... the best thing after grandkids is just having made it this far ...

Hi Robert, hope I will ever get to this age and point of yours in life though. Let me help a fellow namesake and don't let you struggle through the german wiki sites.

Baureihe 120 is an excellent candidate to come into TSW I think as well.

Version 120.2 does not run for the Hanse-Express anymore. The last 120 has been taken from service in Nov 2020.

It has been used for the section Rostock-Schwerin-Hamburg, but the TSC addon Inselbahn Sassnitz-Stralsund features the BR 120 for intercity services (found one to Oldenburg), so it could be used for the section Rostock-Stralsund/Sassnitz for said IC services as well. Having said Oldenburg, BRO comes to mind too.

Apart of the regional use between Hamburg and Rostock, 120 could be used as the Rhein-Sieg-Express for the Rhein-Sieg-Railway (which in real life is the extension to SKA), or on the part it which it shares with the Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Frankfurt (up to Siegburg where both branch off), plus actually layer to SKA since the 120 were stationed in Aachen and run the whole route Aachen-Siegen. October 2018 ended the service for them there too.

They were also used in late 1980s on the Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Würzburg because of their pressure-resistant cabin for the tunnels, which to that time not many locos had. So it could be even nice for a historic timetable of KWG.

Hmm, seems like it would be a good fit for LFR as well, Matin_TSP?

Here is a short documentary of the BR 120 as part of the Hanse-Express, recently uploaded to YouTube.

    Best wishes to Canada!
