BR 120 – Classic German Electric Locomotive Add-On
I think the BR 120 would be a really interesting addition to TSW, especially because it would bring a locomotive from a part of DB's history that isn't represented very much yet.

The BR 120 is one of those locomotives that can fit into a lot of different types of German railway operations. It was used for both passenger and freight services, and later became especially well known for hauling InterCity trains.

    The locomotive
I'd like to see a properly detailed BR 120, ideally with several liveries representing different periods of its career.

It would be especially cool to have the classic DB red/cream era as well as the later traffic-red version. The locomotive changed quite a bit visually throughout its life, so different variants could also make sense depending on the timetable being represented.

    Passenger services
The biggest reason I'd want a BR 120 is the IC traffic.

It would work extremely well with the classic IC1 coaches, especially the older Bpmz/Bvmz formations. Having a BR 120 at the front of a proper IC rake would give TSW a very different feeling compared with the BR 101.

It could also be used with cab cars and regional stock where historically appropriate, giving it some additional variety beyond just IC services.

    Freight
The BR 120 wasn't only a passenger locomotive either. It was also used for freight, so I'd definitely like to see some freight services included.

That would make the locomotive much more useful on routes where there isn't enough passenger work for it, while also representing an interesting part of its later career.

    Possible routes
There are quite a few German routes where a BR 120 could make sense, particularly routes representing the 1990s and 2000s.

It could also work surprisingly well on some of the existing modern-era routes if a suitable historical timetable were added.

For example, routes around Stuttgart would be particularly interesting, since BR 120s could still be seen working long-distance services in the late 2010s.

Why I think it would be worth making
The BR 120 would add something that the current German locomotive selection doesn't really cover: a classic high-performance DB electric locomotive that sits between the older generation of locomotives and the BR 101 era.

It would also give us another proper IC locomotive, but without simply feeling like another BR 101.

A BR 120 with authentic IC1 formations, some freight work and a suitable historical timetable could make for
