    WHATS INCLUDED IN THE PACK?

    BR CLASS 68 (DRS)

The Class 68 is a diesel-electric locomotive used on the UK’s main railway network for both passenger and freight trains. It was built by Stadler Rail Valencia (formerly Vossloh España) for the company Direct Rail Services. Its design is based on the Stadler Eurolight locomotive, and Stadler calls this version the UKLight.

they operate a large number of freight services on the Trent Valley from Daventry and Crewe

    BR CLASS 88 (DRS)

The British Rail Class 88 is a locomotive used on the main railway network in Great Britain for both passenger and freight services. It was built by Stadler Rail Valencia (formerly Vossloh España) for Direct Rail Services. The Class 88 can run using either electricity from overhead wires or its own diesel engine, making it the first dual-mode locomotive in Great Britain to use the 25 kV AC overhead electrification system.

the major difference between this and the 68 is that the 88 can operated fully electric under 25KV OHLE and features a last mile diesel engine option.

    IDA CONTAINER FLAT WAGON (TESCO)

built in 2011, these wagons are designed to carry 9ft 6in containers and have seen particular use on Stobart/Tesco workings.

    WHY THIS PACK?

This pack brings in a lot more freight services traffic around WCML Trent Valley, rather than it being limited to EWS 66 workings, and once the Class 70 comes out, it’ll be able to run alongside it, making for more variety in freight workings, not just on this route, but others too.

    Thanks all for viewing!
