Now that the Brighton Main Line is officially the next rush hour route we are getting, I thought it would nice to have one thread where all our talks about BML can be contained in. We can discuss theorys, predictions and even things we want to see! So to get this thread properly up and running, here’s some questions for you all: What are you most excited for in the BML What do you really want to see in the BML
- Having a busy route with loads of red and yellow signals, bringing exciting gameplay. - Seeing loads of AI, would be great, especially at Brighton if the ECW layers are included. - Having a wide variety of short, medium and longer services ranging from 10 minutes to more than an hour with different stopping patterns across the whole route (there's roughly about 30 stations on the route). For example, would be great to operate metro services stopping at all the stations between Victoria and East Croydon, then drive a fast service to Brighton etc. Also, maybe a bonus of using a 313 layer for the Brighton-Hove shuttle if the latter station is included. - Attach and divide of services. - Having the Class 387. - Having some depot services. - Inclusion of the GWR 166 between Redhill and Gatwick, plus AI Southeastern at Victoria. - Having some freight included. - Having 377/1 numbers, makes it feel more authentic. - Finally, will be brilliant to drive on my local route.
I agree with all these points also, To me having a busy timetable is the most important aspect for me. This includes the Southeastern services at victoria, I will be very disappointed if this doesn't happen.
Given how amazing the oast 2 RH routes have been, I am hoping this is a save the best for last case scenario. Like, on Riesa-dresden, when you are standing at dresden, at noon, there is almost always at least one train at the station. On a previous image shown, it was shown that L2B has 700 some services, though not all of them will be operatable.
One thing I noticed on an older DTL article, Service 1038-AI-HST-PortalIN? Where does a HST operate anywhere on the brighton main line? Is this a HST railtour?
Perhaps it's filling in for a 158 on the Bristol-Brighton route? Although if they have an HST from GWE on that route, it would make far more sense to have the 166 at both Brighton and on the Redhill-Gatwick route.
The 166 does also run on the WCW , so if a 166 layer is added for Gatwick , it would be nice to see an AI 166 at Brighton
