Ah sorry I meant just 200 units in general, I think there’s only like 5 different classes that have it

All trains in the UK that are part of the desiro family have those sounds. Nicknamed 'UFO' sounds.
    (Classes 350/360/380/444/450/700/707/717).

I think they sound OK but could become annoying if travelling everyday and have a migraine. I prefer sound than having no sound. The 465 sounds better imo but then again these Electric trains don't sound as good as the Diesels, (HST etc) or Steam imo.

There I disagree entirely. It resembles the not-unattractive Talent 2, whereas the bulk of British EMUs have flat fronts (unattractive) and/or center connector doors (downright fugly. Convenient for multi-unit lashups, but fugly. Also makes for a tiny driving cab shoved off to one side.)

The only brand new British trains I can think of that have that arrangement are the 196s/7s and the 730s

See, I grew up with the 158s being "top of the line" regional units and although I can see it shunts the driver off to one side I actually quite like that arrangement (because nostalgia)
I can see that from a drivers point of view the big wide window is an excellent thing

I just don't like the 700s... and given the 707s are being tested about 300 yards from where I live I know I'm going to see a lot more of them!

  8. The Class 700s sound different (much better in my opinion) when running on overhead lines north of St. Pancras. I recommend searching it up.

Found this, still would give me a headache after seeing too many of them.

That's odd, I've never particularly heard them like that when under AC

The west Coastway does in fact go to Portsmouth , via Bognor Regis and littlehampton . It does have more urban areas , and more frequent stations . The 377 is more commonly used than the 313 on the west Coastway
