I agree about the DLR. I went on it when it opened in 1987 and was essentially a tour of an inner city wasteland book-ended by areas of deprivation and for a short while it was part of my commute in the nineties. I always saw it as more of a computer system that moves people around. As a railwayman, hearing "This train is delayed by a computer fault" was incredibly disorientating. Signal failures, broken rail, wires down; all situations that my brain can visualise and know what sort of delay I'm in for. "Computer fault" meant nothing to me in terms of service recovery. Still not a fan of the DLR, a tramway would have be a more flexible approach.

Anyway, just an old thought from an old duffer. One of the Edinburgh routes has AI trams, Blackpool Branches has an AI rollercoaster so it might actually be a fairly small job to include the DLR but only if it's inaccessible in-game.

DLR is automatic, if they added that to TSW5 you would just be sitting there as an operator doing nothing

If C2C came to TSW I don't think the DLR (if it was represented) would be playable. Not just for 3 stations of it. Far better to have the 13 miles and 15 stations of the District Line from Bow Road to Upminster. Even the District Line could end up being AI only.

Let's get C2C/The LTS into TSW and worry about these side issues when/if it gets announced. Essex awaits, DTG.

Thank you captain obvious... I was talking about them driving around as AI.

Maybe not ... but it just annoys me when people start lecturing me about stuff I´m fully aware of.

Understandable, but don't forget that some in here may be from Auckland or Cape Town and just have a passing interest in UK trains and therefore may not know that you, for example, have a more intimate knowledge on a subject. Recently one kind-hearted soul told me all about the units that I spent several late nights round my boss's house writing the safety case for prior to introduction back in the nineties.
I simply agreed and added a bit more info.

Incidentally, my boss had the earliest example of a lap-top computer I'd ever seen. It was a pretty cumbersome piece of kit but seemed futuristic to me.

Let’s not let this thread degenerate like so many others.
My favourite quote today “Essex awaits, DTG”

Come on team, make it so.

Shall I get an "Essex Awaits TSW" T-shirt made for DTG Matt. DTG Alex and DTG JD ?

    Or we could stand outside DTG Towers on the dockside singing;
    "What do we want?"
    "An Essex DLC"
    "When do we want it?"
"As soon as feasibly possible please".

We could take some sticks of rock from Southend to close the deal.

Call it extreme if you like but I propose we hit them hard and hit them fast with a major, and I mean major, leaflet campaign.

Haha, yes a leaflet campaign is the English way of registering our disgust.

It seems that there were rumors about the development of London, Tilbury and Southend line.... I wonder if this is true....?
