Can Anyone Help Me Identify This Train?

    A bit off-topic of anything but I want to find out what train used to run on my local branch line in the 70's but I only have one picture to go off.

    (It's in England) The closest I have come is the call 101 DMU but it doesn't have the two rectangles between the cab windows...

    That's a BR Class 101 - which were prolific throughout the Northern Regions being mostly based at Newcastle, Darlington, Leeds and Manchester. They were also used in other regions, here's a clearer picture of one in Norfolk on the Ipswich - Felixstowe service:

    Wow, Steve, slick drills there! :) FYI I'm going to be starting work on a model railway that my father bought for me years ago- have decided to model an aspect of the west somerset railway as it offers so much variation and possibility, and of course I can now drive it too thanks to you guys ;)
