Also, the screenshot on P6 facing west. Makes it difficult to see if there’s actually any OHLE on platform 4. I suspect it’s going to be relatively modern. 2022 if they’re going to get away without FLIRT or Civity stock.
Coryton to Cardiff Queen Street is a 16min service IRL. Penarth to Cardiff Queen Street is a 18min service IRL Cardiff Bay to Radyr is a 15min service IRL I assume most services will be a there and back, effectively doubling the times above.
I am actually really excited for this route, simply because it’s my most local route in the game and it’s the first ever Welsh route! I really do hope it’s great!
Quite literally the title says Cardiff City Commuter.... Odd considering they've named it CCN up until now... St.Davids Day tomorrow, so who knows. Could do a preview stream? If not, I'm sure the roadmap stream will reveal all... I hope it lives up to/exceeds expectations... but I have serious reservations as stated earlier in the thread.
That’s part of the new timetables Cardiff Bay to Cardiff Queen Street back to the bay then to Radyr for Pontypridd. So it’s likely to be the new timetable yes ?Coryton and Cardiff Queen St (Caerphilly) to Penarth and Radyr to Radyr which is Merthyr Tydfil to Aberdare via Cathays then back out of Cardiff via City line.
New screenshots of the route! Looks like it coming along really nicely, and we get 2 153 variants! GWR layers is a nice touch. Looking forward to this later in the month.
If i've read it right both Heath High Level and Cogan will now be included? That's what i was hoping for but i'm actually surprised it's gonna happen, definitely a win for me and cannot wait for this route now for sure!!
Well, the route itself is not bad, but it seems to have a small colour problem with the 153. Shouldn't the recessed section under headlights be black or sth?
Without trying to sound rude, harsh, or spiteful, for the first time, this isn't going to be a day one purchase for me of a apparent DTG UK route... This would usually be the sort of route that really appeals to me, but after the WCMLS saga DTG have left a very bitter taste in my mouth. WCMLS looked great in the preview screen shots and what we got was something that did not live upto the hype or expectation. Further more the commitments to improve it have been half baked and left in limbo (just to clarify Liam done a Stirling job, but the actual developers of the route left the route in such a state it was hard to fix). So it does make me think if this is bugged with the same issues, will it be a repeat of WCMLS half baked nature and promises? I'm not willing to spend money to find out. I fear with Rivet being so quiet and under the radar at the moment that DTG have outsourced their UK content to them. For all of the reasons above I'll be avoiding it for the first few weeks or months at least until the reviews come in and see if we have the same issues and overly hyped up product that doesn't live upto expectation. It's one of those situations I sincerely hope I eat my words and am proven wrong. But I just feel I'm not going to at the moment. It's a shame but that's where DTGs reputation sits with me at the moment and they've only brought it on themselves. Pessimistic and judgemental? Possibly. I don't want to influence anyone and let people draw their own conclusions. But the pessimism and judgement comes from a well founded place with WCMLS and the core issues that are still ongoing. I'll be keeping a close eye on the sidelines for now and let other people buy it later this month and see if the same issues from WCMLS become apparent, whether that be the timetable, scenary issues, etc...
The screenshots have filled me with a (little) bit more hope. Knowing both 153 variants will be included is a plus. Not sure how Cogan will add much to the route, but there we go. Still waiting to see if they’ve fixed Cardiff centrals lighting…. nice to see canton included (as expected)
Well, the Barry services can ‘end’ at Cogan, further down the line and branching away from Penarth, instead of Grangetown. Makes sense to include that, and Heath High Level considering they’d have to be modelled and present anyway. A good lesson to have learnt from previous routes!
I'm pretty sure this means the ones in the new units meet accessibility requirements, rather than it being accessible in TSW.
This looks like a pretty good route, IMHO! I'll wait for the usual preview stream though! I don't know if you noticed already, but in this shot you can see an HST. Castles maybe? I think they'll be the original convoys, reduced to 4+2 cars... Truly remarkable if they also added some GWR layers! EDIT - Thanks coursetim . Sometimes I feel like a total idiot, finding a nearly invisible detail, leaving out a whole rather obvious screenshot... LOL!
There was a screenshot on the roadmap with the HST in the foreground! Definitely interested to see how they layer in
Can’t wait for my one car train to become full and passengers blocking the exit due to being unable to find seats.
Got to have the full TFW experience! One of the most frustrating things being at University in Bangor North Wales was unless it was an Avanti service everything was primarily 2 cars and would be full to standing room as soon as it left Bangor...
Exactly what it means. One is without a “PRM” compliant toilet, one comes with. PRM = Person Reduced Mobility.
One thing that’s got me thinking about AI traffic. I respect there’s licensing issues at hand. But could DTG not layer in an (unbranded) GER 801 (as an 800,) electro star and networker, and an unbranded 170 for XC? It would fill up Cardiff central a bit more.
Ah ok thanks, i usually just look at the usual one I didnt realise they post roadmap articles on here
Just read the rivet screenshot…. Rivet and high quality is not something I’d say in the same sentence.
And if we were paying for static screenshots of cherry picked scenarios, the statement from Mr Rissik would be factual.
What people need to realise, is that this doesn't mean anything. There is a clear distinction between someone's professional opinion and what they actually think. The CEO of DTG ain't going to publicly denigrate them. All that will do is send the wrong message to their current and potential future partners, basically committing business suicide.
