Tanks have been misused by both sides in Ukraine, and if you don't defend against air power (drones) then everything is "vuleranble." An FPS drone is basically akin to a biplane or helicopter in performance today, just minus the pilot. Speed, payload, vulnerability... It's no more "effective" really except that it's more expendable because you aren't losing a pilot every time. The drones themselves are destroyed in huge numbers. The problem isn't "tanks" it's not providing enough air defense. It'd be the same as if you sent in hundreds of attack helicopters or hundreds of tanks instead. Tanks weren't built to protect vs planes...they were built to stand up to machine gun fire...which they still do. You could say tanks were "obsolete" 75 years ago when air power was blowing them up when undefended. Same with anti-tank weapons. Troops are carrying them. Bazookas have been around for 75 years too. The issue isn't "tanks" it's how EXPENSIVE everything has become by comparison. You could build cheap armored vehicles and lots of air defense. Ironically, the air defense assets of World War 2 would be better than current armies vs drone warfare since they were set up specifically to fight vs air attacks too. But I agree, we're getting a bit off topic. On topic... I see people on social media complaining the models in game "aren't realistic" or "Britain doesn't have those." I see a Warrior and an MRAP (Mastiff I think) in the pictures. Those are definitely UK vehicles.
Depending on how "authentic" you want to get, you can use the Cargo Line 4 stuff in Free Roam on any route and they're vague enough to work in almost any route in game. UK definitely, but similar-ish to US designs, and even Germany has similar-ish vehicles they won't look out of place. Not an exact match, but the ones in game are a bit off from truly "real" too, but they're close enough. Funny you'd post Barstow because that's the area where you'd send military equipment to go into Ft. Irwin National Training Center where units go to practice military maneuvers with those vehicles. It's a few miles north of Barstow out in the middle of the desert. 100% accurate there.
