As an example, if you have the wipers on, they aren't running when you choose to continue. You need to switch them off and back on again. Similarly, the notification for what you need to do next vanishes. I was doing the run where you need to wait until 19.30 to set off. When I loaded up the game the notification for that has disappeared, so the only way I knew what was coming next was to pause the game. The cab lights also go off, and the only way I can get the light back on is to switch both switches in the cab on and off a couple of times, then the lights come back on.
