If the line was extended down to oxford the class 220/221 could be added. Cross country terminates at Reading.

Yes I know now is TFL Rail. But the date is set between 2014-2016 where all electrical power between Hayes and Harlington and Reading isn`t electrified.

No you’re getting confused. I assume you don’t live on the line. Class 220/221 are operated by CrossCountry. They operate from Reading going West either towards Basingstoke, Southampton and Bournemouth OR Oxford and up towards Birmingham/Manchester/Newcastle.

They have one service a day which I think theyre going to stop that goes to Reading to Guildford via North Downs line. The most you could see on the GWE route is Reading to Kennet Bridge loop for shunt purposes (about 2 signals out of Reading heading towards Paddington).

Many years ago, CrossCountry under Virgin operated from Paddington to Birmingham New Street using Class 47s. The work used to be shared with Virgin West Coast drivers. But that stopped early 2000s. CrossCountry don’t go East of Reading now.

TFL rail have taken over much of GWR commuter work and have nothing to do with CrossCountry.

I think the class 220 would be great to see however they would have to bring out a route it runs on before it would be suitable.
