    The main thing to remember with these trains is you can’t reduce power without first setting the power handle to Off then going back to a lower notch.

    Seems like you are still having trouble "maintaining speed" even after you posted about the same issue last month and got several detailed responses, including one that I have included above. Not sure what else can be done for you here as what you are experiencing is reflective of the way this unit works in reality. Don't be afraid to use the search function to find answers to your questions; you might just find that someone else has had a similar issue and got a detailed response. Creating multiple posts about the same thing can sometimes be counterproductive.

    Yes, it's called a camshaft controller.

    Say you have your power controller at position 4 & you want to reduce it to position 2; so moving the handle from 4 to 2 won't do anything in this case. You'll have to move it to 0 to cut the power completely before you can apply it again at the reduced level.

    So your power up sequence is:
    0 --> 1 --> 2 --> 3 --> 4

    And power down sequence is:
    current position --> 0 --> desired position

    Thanks for the explanation. ;)
    I've always wondered if it wasn't a limitation of the game (back in the TSC days) that persisted into TSW.

    In any case, as mentioned above, it's not very practical for maintaining a constant speed over a long distance...
