Class 377 London Commuter Back Door Open

Hello, on the london commuter on the class 377, i always have the back door at the end of the train always open, is that a bug or something on the ps5

 

I think it’s a bug, I’ve noticed it on PC too. Another of the many.

 

Bug since October of 2021, but it got worse in January of 2023.

 

Yeah. It’s really annoying. And you can’t close it.

 

I did a run to Purley the other day and noticed it aswell. On PC (steam) I tried closing the doors at East Croydon and managed to get the inner doors closed but not the outer doors.

 

Same. I closed the inner doors, but the outer doors were opened and "locked." Wondering what that was all about. Series S

 

Had this same issue with the doors open and Locked (XSX) and sometimes the doors pop quite Randomly open

 

Have seen it on both PS5 and XSX.

Apparently it happens when you spawn directly into the service… if you spawn on foot and take the train at the station it will be fine.

 

Yes happened to me too 377 and GX express

hopefully DG will fix this should not have to drive with a stuck open door

 

DTG Alex DTG JD DTG Matt sorry for the tags guys but please can this be flagged for a fix, only minor but incredibly annoying when we can't even close the doors ourselves to solve it because it is locked in the open position.

Can confirm the issue, experienced it too once.

 

This has been going on forever.

One thing about it is it seems to only happen to trains you spawn into.

So, a way to avoid it is instead of spawning directly into a service, spawn on foot and take the train you want over manually.

I have noticed this also recently on series x

 

I presume this glitch is caused by the code that automatically opens the unit end doors when it's coupled to another unit. For example, an eight car unit will automatically have the doors in the centre opened up, or at least that's how I think it worked (I last played TSW last year and do not own TSW3).

Same issue. Not the end of the world but rather annoying.

 

In the real world, it would be an incident. I can't believe the doors are open while the train is in service.
It's not possible.

 

Agree this is very annoying , and surprised it’s taking so long to get fixed! Also surprised that when this bug occurred (after an update I believe ) it was not noticed in testing ?

 

I wonder if there are any modders (for pc) who are able to have a look and see if they can made a fix for it until DTG does it officially

 

I think I may have found a work around to this bug, I accidentally saved the game with the doors open and then I quit to the main menu and came back to the game later I loaded the save and hey presto the rear doors closed on spawn and they are unlocked so I've done a quick video showing it working. HOWEVER I don't know if using this will have any knock on effects for the service/ai/dispatcher for the run as we all know what the save game feature is like and I don't know if this work around will work on consoles as I'm on PC.

 

I have raised this in another thread, but there have been no station signals since the early days. This is before Croydon 2 station.
It is swallowed by an extremely thick brick wall. Naturally it is not visible to our view.

 

This happens every time I start a Reigate- LV 4 car service. You have to "hijack" the train when an AI driver takes over to prevent it from happening

 

Will this issue ever get fixed ?

 

Yeah this bug is so annoying. I haven't been able to drive the class 377 for 4 months now. cuz of this bug i like it to look realistic not the inner gangway doors to be shut and not the outa dovetail really need to fix this.

 

On the Selhurst to London Victoria route on one of the timetables it works the doors shut but when you go on a other timetable with the class 377 so for example London Victoria - Reigate And London Victoria - Brighton the 377 spawns with the doors open and you cannot shut it. Its very annoying and dovetail needs to fix this first, there letting a massive bug slip past.

 

Might be that yeah. and it could be causing a glitch to the back door yeah i know what you mean. Just when it does it on a 4 car route it makes 0 sense if that was the reason.

This is why I've sticked to GX services as it doesn't occur with the Class 387.
When I do use a 377 I spawn on foot, open the door at the rear, and close it at departure time.

 

Still seeing this bug, surprised it has not been fixed!

 

I don't think it's a priority for DTG as there are more importnat bigger bugs in the game.

 

I think the issue is that the back door issue cannot reliably be recreated (at least for me) on DTG machines. I'm sure some of us have this issue on practically every service we play, but I cannot find a way to consistently get the back door glitch.

 

For me it consistently appears , whenever I run a 377 service . No mods in my game at all , playing on PC (Steam).

 

Yeah I have a 1 in 15 chance of it happening whenever I drive the class 377 on a service that doesn't go south of Horley. If a train does go south of Horley, then it won't happen, and it never happens on northbound trains. No mods, engine ini tweaks, playing on PC (Steam). What kind of services do you drive most often?

 

I've done the Victoria -Reigate and Victoria - Brighton services quite a bit and its always noticeable the back doors are open!

 

Yeah I've seen it quite a bit on the Reigate services, but never on a Brighton service. Interesting...

 

It is there on Brighton services.

The Reigate ones are probably easier to spot as they are 4-car. Brighton services can be 8- or 12-car

 

Yeah I’ve had it on Victoria to Brighton services too. This along with the cab being lit up in tunnels has pretty much seen me ditch any 377 services.

 

Has anyone experienced this issue with East Coatway, or is it specific to London Commuter?

 

It's only on London Commuter 377 services as the ECW uses an older model of the 377 if I remember correctly. It was mentioned in the stream last night so hopefully DTG JD & DTG Matt can flag this up to get it fixed

 

Thanks JD, hopefully it can be resolved soon. I did do a support ticket months ago but it was closed the day after I did it

 

Likely be because the issue is known and documented. Unfortunately, it’s one of those visual issues with barely any impacts, which diminishes the chances of it receiving attention.

 

Becomes a problem if I want a rear view of the train though.

 

Or, as I decided to do, a round trip between Victoria and Reigate.

Because the door doesn't swap ends like the driver would. No. It stays at one end, so now the door was in the leading car!

 

Sad to see there are still no updates on this bug being fixed.

 

According to Matt on the roadmap live stream the other night it is down to be fixed, just no ETA on it though.

 

Yeah but you'd think they would've fixed it ages ago (as in over a year ago)

 

Shame it hasn’t been fixed, but as it essentially is a really minor bug, it wouldn’t be surprising it’s not fixed in the following years.

Theirs a really obvious graphical issue on a lot of trains for Xbox that’s been going 2-3 years, no fix, no mention.

 

Pretty poor for a simulation though. In real life you'd been sacked if that door was open while the train was running.
