It's likely so but that was fixed. I'll need to double check if my fix went in for the release as it was submitted very close to launch.
Hi, I bought the 380 yesterday and did some runs with it. I'm pretty impressed, the model seems very accurate : modeling seems good and physics too. I measured the acceleration rate for both /0 and /1 consists and it is consistent with the figures I found. I also like the in-cab info screen with all its menus giving information about the train (consistent with recent DLCs). Sounds are immersive, the in-cab feeling is really like a modern EMU. And the air gauge readings are accurate, they do not suffer from paralax effect, unlike a very recent diesel locomotive DLC, despite having a way worse angle of vision from the driver seat. The only thing I would like is to lower the driver's POV a little, it could be centered with the headrest. That would give a better and more natural view of the driver's desk. Congratulations to the devs, this is definitely a good purchase !! Some nice fresh air to Cathcart. Ready to set off !
Click the lower part of the window, where the opening panel has slid down into. Took me a couple of minutes to find that out! Not consistent with other models, so not intuitive.
Just updated my previous post in this thread about problems with the night lights at Neilston with additional pictures and info about another station (Whitecraigs) that has a similar problem.
5K56 - Glasgow Central to Shields Depot (Part 1) with a 380/0. Has passengers on board, but should not. I continued into Part 2 but oversped (!) so decided to restart Part 2, and after spawning in found that passengers were on the train again.
Can we please get a fix for the PBC. It is far too slow in my opinion. And there’s a mod on PC, which obviously cannot be accessed by console users. Please take this into consideration.
If they change the PBC, I suspect you’ll get an equal number of people complaining that it’s too fast. For me playing on keyboard, it’s just right. Any faster and I wouldn’t get the fine control that I want. What would be ideal is if there was a setting where you could adjust it so that everyone can have their own preferences. In the meantime, in my opinion, it’s not broken, so don’t mess with it.
Agreed. A good example is the Rivet Games Class 385 where I struggle to get the brake input I want because the handle is too fast. I think the Class 380 is very easy to drive as it is.
Is it realistic? I did mention (either on this thread or another) that it was slow but if it's realistic than that's fine.
Bug: When changing ends the doors only work at the rear of the train and not at the cab you changed end to. The front two carriages gaurds panels don't work ethier. The only door functionality that seems to work after changing ends is closing doors or releasing doors from the rear two carriages guards panels or in the rear cab. Please fix this asap as it's stopping alot of players from doing full runs to and from places for example Neilston where you have to change ends and shunt.
PC - Tried a couple of runs with a 380/0 + 380/1 (As a 7 car formation) but it seems the rear unit has no motor sounds outside of the transformer humming away. Made no difference which end was being driven from. Route was Edinburgh - Glasgow. Edit: Appears the issue is if you start on the front camera and then accelerate and then switch to the back or free camera the rear unit has no sounds. Seems also that if you are on the free camera you only have audio from the front unit as it passes the camera.
Love the 380. Great addition to TSW. Only issues. PIS, which often switches to "Not in Service" when it should still show the destination. Sometimes it happens midway through a run or if I save/reload, although the scenario/service itself is not affected. Passengers in the units when doing the Shields Road ECS services. And this is not an issue, as I know why it's not in there, but please try to add the auto announcements at a later date, would really help with the immersion.
I had something weird the other day. Was driving past Smithy Lye sidings and a passenger whizzed across the track behind my train, was a blur and I only noticed it as I was in an external camera. I wonder if it's something to do with the passenger animations inside the carriage... as DTG will not have introduced a trespasser mode! Out of interest, what are you using, PC or console? Mine was PC.
Probably more of a route issue. DTG seem incapable of getting on top of it. Maybe it is going to take a major sponsor, licensor or even Network Rail to read the riot act and threaten to withdraw future permission to replicate the infrastructure and trains, if they can’t get this simple element right.
I feel like this would be a terrible thing to happen, it could stop all development altogether. Bugs happen, they work on fixing them and then testing the fixes and bring it out next update. QnA cant get everything
Something I noticed in real life. Talking DRA is a thing. It uses the same voice as the real life ScotRail announcements. Hopefully DTG can source the audio for this if/when they get a recording trip. Unknown weather or not the 385 also has a talking DRA.
Those safety system announcements are only present on trains with TPWS Mk4 or later (Class 700 for example). I’m not sure whether the 385 would have the DRA announcement but it should have the ‘TPWS & AWS operational’ announcement, the 380 would have neither since it uses TPWS Mk3
I've heard the DRA voice on a 225studios video. It's just "Driver, you have reset the DRA, please check the signal" in the usual ScotRail announcement voice.
I sometimes go to North Berwick on a Class 380 and when sitting behind the cab you can definitely hear a Scottish accent calling "Driver, you have reset the DRA. Please check the signal" Other interesting sounds are the guards buzzer which is a simple beep presumably when the TMS is booting, then the signal gets replaced with DING.WAV which was introduced with Windows 3.1 and included with Windows CE, NT and others. Class 380's seem therefor to have a legacy Windows system embedded somewhere.
question has press release on Cathcart been broken by some of the last updates for TSW 4 as I have tried to complete the scenario twice now and both times I have not even been able to complete the first time round the circle always getting stuck at a red signal out side the last station before you get back to Glasgow central when looking on the map it seems like there are two stuck AI trains at the signals into Glasgow central which in turn stop you the player service as well as the train in front of you I know its too late to patch for TSW4 but could the teams look at this going forward for TSW5 PS playing on pc
Bug: Doors not releasing after changing ends. Only being able to lock them from the end you changed to and having to go to the rear of the train to open the doors. Platform: Xbox Series X
