That is lovely though even with the slight adjustment to make it less straight, thanks for attaching that, I didn't mean to be a pain. May I ask how many layers you are at?
No pain. TSW loads quickly these days. Do you mean to say that I need to make the sides of the crown less straight? 433 layers.
That's good to hear. Perhaps a little bit more rounded, but I actually meant it looked much better now then the previously where it were much more vertical, anything now will just be minor alterations as I would say it is nearly spot on, or as close as can be achieved with the limitations of livery designer. So nearly half then, that's not bad going at all mate.
OK.... So the issue appears to be with the Dovetail Live side (what a surprise!) Removing the livery, opening and closing the game, adding the livery and starting the game once again results in.....................
the colour darkening that you performed did not seem to show up in the game on my side, I had to remove/add the livery again a few times before the game synced with your latest version. I would say the blue is good now
Bad news. MYG92 was correct. At this detail, 1000 layers is (somehow) not enough, so I can't copy it over to the other side. I'm going to try simplifying tomorrow. I am 213 layers over the limit if I try and copy over. This should be interesting... Anyone have any ideas?
That sucks… I can feel your frustration having spend quite a few time, detailing this part just to run out of layers and resorting to delete shapes, so you’ll end up with a simplified version. I hope they’ll increase from 1000 to 2000 layers and even 3000 but I’m scared, that will break liveries like the transition from TSW3 to TSW4, when switching from 300 to 1000 layers broke all the liveries, personally I had to redo all of them.
Eh, I was kind of expecting it, so i'm not too bothered. I don't feel like redoing rhe livery if the layer count is increased, though...
I don't know anything about the Livery Editor, BUT could you turn the crest into one image and import it to the bodyside?
I didn't know you could import custom images into the livery designer. I'll have to look into that. Had I known this, I'd have just taken a screenshot of the crest and edited it a bit.
Can you mirror everything except the text to the other side using the project settings and then copy over the text on top.
And, we have a winner! It turns out that, yes, the crest is in the same place on both sides of the locomotive, so I didn't need to copy it. Projection worked fine! The detail on the crest remains. With that, I can finally say that it is finished and uploaded with 811 layers. Thank you DJsnapattack for patiently waiting for a calendar month for this, and to everyone for being so supportive. If any changes are needed, let me know.
That is a lovely piece of work and it has been fascinating watching you tackle this challenge across this thread Well done. Now go and have a stiff drink
fabulous, that looks gorgeous in those screenshots, but I am sure it will look even better when I see it popping up as AI. Lovely job you have done there mate, got very lucky with the layers in the end!
Actually, that reminds me: am I supposed to set it to appear as AI or is that something you can do after subscribing? (If I need to do it, how do I do so?)
Unless you have deselected it as AI, it should appear as AI by default. I don't believe we can toggle that for for liveries downloaded.
Turns out it was disabled. I've enabled it and created a second upload so that people who want to see it as AI can unsubscribe from the original livery and subscribe to the new one, and people who don't want to see it as AI can still use the livery. I'm fairly sure that's how this works...
