Just thinking of buying the 805. what are people opinions of it right no? I have WCMLS and just got B2C and am fully intending to buy TVL. what do you all think? and why if you don't. thank you.
I play on mid range PC and is mostly fine, sometimes you come across some FPS drops in New Street, Crewe and Euston (I have all the layers) with the original timetable, the optimised/reduced one released last week should be better though. WCML timetable is busier than the original one, and B2C seems very similar to the original. The 805 itself looks and drives really nice imo
Im speaking from my personal experience im on xbox series x. And I haven't managed to complete more then 2 full runs with on both routes. It just ctd all the time either right at the beginning or half way through. The update has made the interior look terrible now.
I have it, and i play on a PS5. I would say that its worth atleast picking up on a sale. it isnt that different from the 801 from the 802 except its on the WCML and not the ECML I havent had blurring issues with it, but with the latest updates most of the in cab buttons now are broken and show a black square and not the icon (doors/buzzer etc). Some of the services are bugged and spawn with the pan down on the trailing unit requiring you to do it yourself (some are fine but some are bugged) Apart from those two issues, in my opinion its a solid unit thats fun to drive and, again imo, way more fun than the pendo is to drive.
That bad… It sounds like another Xbox problem to add to the list. Personally on the PS5 Pro haven’t noticed any downgrades. I’ve done a few runs now with the 805 since the patch, so I’m confident in saying that.
i am on a PS5 (non pro) and the in cab buttons have quite noticable black squares/boxes over them. Playstation is not imune, also TheBritishAce who uses a PS5 Pro has had blurries post update - we arent safe not being Xboxen players I was watching an ambassador stream and when i mentioned it to them, they said that these black boxes are likely a missing texture or similar as they can recall seing those types of things in beta (they didnt specify TSW beta or WCML B2C beta so i dont know which)
It’s just another AT300 IET Class 8xx. Aside from the Dosto cab cars in Germany, probably one of the most boring trains to drive in TSW. It might be realistic to have no traction sounds in the cab (the end cars are unpowered) but by god it makes for an unfulfilling experience. So if you already have the Class 801 on ECML and Class 802 on Riviera, this doesn’t bring anything really radical to the driving experience.
Outside of it being another IET (which I enjoy), it Brings two new Timetables to the WCMLSTH and B2C featuring avanti west coast livery 805, while looks like it will be required for the 807, 350/4 + 70 when out as these are already layered into the 805 TTs for when they release.. if you want more varying traffic for your TT and route then yes its a must, especially if you are on PC..Cant comment on Console experience
I think it is worth it personally, I am on PC. You get two new timetables and I find it is well modelled and sounds good.
Wouldn't bother if you are on xbox. Wont even load. keeps saying out of video memory keeps crashing before it begins. you can't even get away with playing it at 720p on B2C. More money wasted on this game
I enjoy the 805, though from the runs I do, generally switch from AC to diesel mode to mix it up a bit and get the throatier sounds vs parallel runs in the 390. Not how it runs IRL, but meh. I find it well modelled, performant, no issues (ps5 pro) only annoyance I have with it (and this is an IRL thing) is that it isn’t certified up to 125mph, so it’s annoying being speed limited at 110 (I think it is)… I do like to tank it down the main line given the chance
I enjoy the DLC on PS5, I had completed 27/27 jobs for the 805 on WCMLs, but recently a few more jobs have been added so will have to do them. I like the drive and the sounds and as people have said before it’s more fun to drive than the Pendo
