Hi All, We are in the process of collecting feedback relating to the audio in Train Sim World: NEC New York, if you have any insights on this matter or have experienced any problems on this front, please leave a comment here detailing the issue with as much detail as you can provide. Thanks! Jay
- AI ACS-64 trains have no audio - Overall Environment is way too quiet for a city - Interior and Exterior Track sounds are way too muted - ACS-64 In-cab sounds are too quiet - ACS-64 Interior horn and exterior horn are too similar (no cab occlusion?) - ACS-64 Doppler effect on horn missing - ACS-64 Doppler effect on bell missing - ACS-64 Doppler effect on loco sounds missing? - ACS-64 Bell sound loop is poor quality and cuts off mid ring - Track clack sound over switch frogs is missing - Exterior brake sounds missing - CSX GP38-2 has wrong horn audio - Overall all audio is too quiet. This is what I noticed after playing for literally only 10-15 minutes.
GP38-2 horn isn't working properly. Almost too quiet near the horn location. With external view, it gets loud about 100m from the locomotive. Move back towards the locomotive and the horn get progressively more silent. Some distortion at times too. I didn't have this issue with earlier versions of the GP38-2 in CSX:HH. ACS-64 bell is too loud, almost no difference between external and internal sound. Doppler effect a bit off too. The SD40-2 in CSX:HH has audio issues too. External sound will sometimes continue when switching back to in cab view. If you get out of the locomotive seat, internal audio comes back.
I think for TSW as a whole sound is bad. I want to hear roaring engines, but even outside the sound volume is low and in cab sounds are dimmed a lot. You hardly can hear the horn.
On the NYC Penn platform, when you walk on the platform it sounds like you're walking on ballast. When you walk on the tracks there it sounds like you're walking on solid pavement. LOL
The horn sound definition needs fixing. It should have echo effect in distance, normal clear sound in front of you, and distance echo sound again leaving you. Im no expert, but have seen how Unreal Audio editor done this.
