The only time they'll walk through the train is to check tickets, unless they decide to open the doors from a different door. Northern at least do this.
Fair enough, but is this a case of gameability over realism, unless people are happy to sit there twiddling their thumbs for 20 mins or so? Let's face it, when you're being paid to sit doing naff all it's a good thing, (just ask DTG's QC & beta testing team). In a game environment not so much maybe?
WCML South Playing as the guard on service 2N04 MKC - EUS, the station stop list is incorrect. Stopping stations are listed as: Leighton Buzzard Berkhamstead Hemel Hempstead Watford Jctn Harrow & Wealdstone London Euston However, the train stops at Tring when it isn't listed in your itinerary and then continues to Berkhamstead which is listed as Hemel Hempstead. Hemel Hempstead thinks it's Watford Jctn and so on.
The same just happened to me with 8:58 2K10. And it's a mess checking tickets where the error starts, because that station was blank on the tickets, and at the last part the destination that should be London Euston was also blank. Additionally there where ghost passengers with only a floating tag, and one passenger could not be found at all.
I think that's been an issue since release unfortunately. Never tried it from the cab myself so just curious whether the guard key fixed the issue or not.
Hopefully they implement that in the “sequence” as most TOCs require the guard/conductor/train manager to see the train away from the front cab of the rear unit. I must stress this is a “Simulator” after all
I'm going to try a few things regarding the cab and the guard key, I'm not expecting much though. Edit: Yep definitely broken or more likely not ever implemented from in cab, at the start of the service you can put your guard key in the slot above the right hand monitor and turn the monitor on and then activate the trains passenger lights though.
I've not seen it mentioned anywhere but I've probably missed it but I'm getting annoyed that when choosing Conductor mode for a service at Euston I end up several platforms away from the service and have to run over and then get things started, so I end up being late.
Feedback Conductor mode I can only conclude: it is broken outright on the Frankfurt-Fulda You can inhibit the local door, but when you blow the whistle the train just starts outright with doors still open. Quite frankly this is ridiculous
After the latest update, this mode stopped working. You get into the carriage, switch the door lock, signal the driver (L2), and the train starts moving with the door open, right next to where you're standing. Until the next stop, you travel with the warning "Make sure all doors are closed," and it's impossible to complete the scenario. This affects all scenarios on this route. Please help resolve this issue! PS5 platforms
Just wanted to try conductor mode again, only to find not a single conductor mode service on any of the three TSW 5 standard routes that support it anymore. Don't know if they're just not marked as such on the selection screen anymore but may be playable by standing in the guard's position after starting as a driver, but it's half past 1 in the morning and I just can't be bothered anymore. Does anybody else experience this newest issue of "what's broken now" or is it just me?
After the latest update, Conductor Mode still doesn’t work on the Fulda-Frankfurt route. After giving the whistle signal to the driver, the train starts moving with the doors open. Dovetail isn’t listening to the players!
I also had the same happen on a 350 service from EUS. I did guard door close (turned key) then did signal in error while door still open. Train just left as if traction interlock wasn't even a thing,
It seems like I was heard in this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/error-in-conductor-mode-on-the-frankfurt-fulda-route.86634/
Hello everyone, thank you to rsruslan#8230 for reporting this issue appearing on PS5 as well. We are aware of this issue appearing on the Steam build and are actively investigating this issue. All the best, Jan
Conductor mode - PS5 Train departed Frankfurt with the doors open. I started with the instruction saying inhibit door, followed by wait until then blow whistle. As soon as I blow the whistle the train leaves with the inhibited door still open. Closed the door at the next stop then it says I failed left service.
Not sure if this one has been reported but I have to accept invalid tickets. I started a journey mid trip at Watford Junction and then these tickets keep popping up. From Kings Langley (the last stop I stopped at) to Harrow and Wealdstone (which is a stop before Watford Jct). If I reject this ticket, I get points taken off me, but this ticket is invalid as it's travelling the wrong way.
That'll probably come along with the new Manchester airport route as it'll be using the same northern 323
It won't be the same. It will be an updated 323 but with different things working. Same as how the BCC and Glossop line 323s are different but the BCC one the guard panel doesn't work properly. Somehow DTG staff haven't the braincells to think just make a repaint for the Glossop 323 and then use that repainted 323 for BCC!
Working fine on WCML but on Fulda to Frankfurt the train pulls away immediately after blowing the whistle!
Same even with my inhibited door still open Quite bad when a train leaves without the conductor. DTG Alex can this be looked at?
Ps5 have to de-inhibit my door and blow the whistle on the train to get it to work properly. And when I got to the next station it said I left the service. After I closed my door. I think it should be 1 blow whistle doors close except inhibited local door 2 de-inhibit local door 3 blow whistle again local door closes and train leaves as there’s no conductors door control panel - local open/close door release/close signal buttons in this train except the driving cabs.
With Boston-Worcester being my first route with proper Conductor Mode feature, I finally got around to trying it out. It's a fun experience, love the stuff so far. It's especially fun on a route like this, where you have to fiddle around with the trap door on low-level stations, or just opening the local door only for boarding, which I believe the conductors do on MBTA. A few things that came to my mind that could improve it: Show the distance/ETA to the next stop, so I know if I can keep checking tickets or if I need to get back into my guard position. Sure, the map somewhat works for this as well, but it's not as straight forward. Apply suspension and track unevenness simulation to the train you are conducting, similarly to like when you are driving it. Some added movement and head sway would greatly improve the immersion. Maybe some voice lines for the passengers when you are accepting or rejecting their tickets? I mean even just recording like 20-30 short "thank you" and "aww man" type lines would be nice to break the complete silence. The mode once again highlights the lack of horn and bell usage from AI drivers, especially on US routes. Train pulls into and out of the station in complete silence, and passes crossing with no warning as well. It would be nice it it would be implemented, like on TSG's and Just Train's routes. Similarly to AI horn usage, this mode also further highlights the core passenger behavour issues, like the platform being full of people but them refusing to get on the train and stuff like that.
Finding this feature quite fun on the 170, but I would love it to be properly implemented (direct from menu) on 390 (think I read this would be in the December update), fixed on BCC, and also added to the 801. Feel like as a long train, with multiple stops on some services, it would offer a very good experience.
On class 170 why do I have to press close using the passenger buttons not the close button on the guards panel. Service 2G30 05:58 Glenrothes with Thornton - Edinburgh via Kirkcaldy. Conductor mode: I spawn in at Glenrothes with Thornton the train is at Markinch. After fast travelling to the train it leaves markinch passes Glenrothes with Thornton returns to the opposite platform. Then heads to Edinburgh via Dunfermline not via Kirkcaldy.
N.B. Before doing it, please fix the instances where you get ejected from the train. To check this, just stand in the cab or something the whole way in both directions. It's in a few places around Grantham, and probably others I've missed too.
For players who have added old DLC such as the Boston Sprinter and NEC New York - Trenton on TSW5, Could we be seeing conductor mode added to old DLCs? This counts for any compatible with TSW5.
The whole Kinzigtalbahn route has Conductor mode bugged. It tells you to whistle to the guard and after that just has him speed off with the doors still open.
Should be, haven’t played Fulda route guard mode since this keeps happening. I’d try blowing the guards whistle while on the train.
Definitely needs work done to it on wcml..basically unplayable at moment with the bugs I have encountered
Fixed with today’s update, also after closing the doors on the newly released conductor mode on NY Trenton train won’t move instruction is wait for next stop. Service 6231 NY Penn to Montclair state university current status movement locked
I can't even get to the close doors instruction. Opening all doors doesn't even complete the first "open door" task. What a mess. It took a month-long break from the game to come back and see that it was even worse than before.
BUG PLATFORM: Xbox Series X TRAIN: ALL Class 350 services ROUTE: WCML South DETAILS: After opening doors on a class 350 in guard mode or as a driver, when closing then the door interlock light (exterior orange light on the centre of each carriage) and the door buttons (small yellow buttons located on the door) stay illuminated when doors are locked. This should not happen and cannot be prevented on a player service. Please fix this ASAP as it breaks Immersion and gameplay on guard mode especially.
