I don’t think there is much else, what is it that you think it isn’t given credit for in terms of variety ?

    1) Varied stopping patterns. At least 3 or 4.

    2) Both 801/1 and /2 variants are included (albeit filling for the 800 with artistic license).

    3) There's the short runs with the 158.

    4) Freight.

All those lead to variety. Just because the 801 is the main focus (which was the whole point) with only stations between Peterborough to Doncaster (which ideally should have ended at York) doesn't mean there's no variety.

I don’t recall all the stopping patterns tbh, I’m not sure how many there is.

158 is only extra if you have MML and like with freight isn’t covered by LNER. The 5 car variant is included but only made up from the 9 car and isn’t realistic to the real 5 car.

I don’t think anyone’s said no variety, just quite limited. York would have been the better choice I do agree.

I'm not quite sure on the stopping patterns either.

I can see where variety lacks, but for me.to enjoy the route, there's enough.

I do not want to start an argument but the ECML only has 5 stops on this route. I found the gaps between the stops incredibly long. I can understand why you enjoy it because it is 80 miles of scenery I believe.

Its a high speed route, obviously there's going to be long gaps between stationd. The number of stops doesn't even matter, more doesn't equal better.

I do enjoy it for the scenery, but that's not the only reason. It also provides a high speed experience that isn't dominated by commuter runs unlike most routes.

I do like how the BKL is short and sweet, you can choose between a quick 30 minute run to Queen’s Park often pulling in just behind the train in front of you as soon as it leaves the station, the depot runs (London Road & Stonebridge Park) and the hour long leisurely cruise up to Harrow. I found myself falling asleep with the ECML due to long stretches of doing nothing but cancelling the alerter.

I have the same experiences as you Josh. Although, this route does seem relatively popular amongst others. The thing is, nobody requested Doncaster to Peterborough route. People wanted something better.

Yeah I remember when they announced the ECML I was quite excited thinking it would be King’s cross to Peterborough, when it was revealed to be Peterborough to Doncaster instead I was very disappointed and I ended up only picking up TSW4 recently over the Christmas Period after they fixed a few bugs, and in preparation for the new London Overground route.

There’s no need for that as all new routes come to the latest version of TSW. It might be TSW8 by the time another LU route is made.

I would love one to feature in TSW4. It is such a substantial, revolutionary network and it needs to be recreated. I have bought every single Train sim world and one of them have been a complete waste of money. The simulation games are so expensive so I would want exciting content to feature.

It's not a waste of money actually. You get good value (despite the obvious shortcomings). London Underground maybe doesn't sell well to the majority. There also isn't much variety on it to entice people.

Some London Underground lines have variety. It has a lot of stations which may be to challenging for DTG to create it.

While that is a reasonable analysis, I’d say it is a matter of personal opinion whether a person finds a product they’ve bought to be adequate or not, and depending on one’s personal situation and philosophy, the product could be described as a waste of money. At the same time it could be gold dust for someone else.

Isn't it just stop start runs at every stop?

It depends on the line. I personally like the stop and start sort of routes as you have a lot of things to do and have to remain within a tight schedule. The Metropolitan Line has a relatively long distance between stations but nothing substantial

I understand that, but to me, I don't find value in London Underground. Its perfectly okay if some do.

personally I thought the gaps were pretty decent, if anything they are quite frequent for high speed

it’s a good route, specifically for that kind of stopping pattern (probably it’s number 1 feature) though in comparison to other sections of ECML, it’s pretty plain scenery wise.

I would say if you like Peterborough to Doncaster then if they ever do the other sections of the ECML then you’re in for quite a treat. Some real nice cliff drops on the north section in particular.

though if you’re not one for longer routes, then the other sections ain’t going to appease that.

I think they need to extend the route for free. It seems like to short for a base route

I agree it would have been best to go to York but apart from that the distance is pretty good.

it is one of the longest routes in game, and I’m pretty sure it’s even longer outside in comparison with Kassel Wurzburg (as that route was about 50/50 tunnels/outside)

Nowhere near too short at 80 miles. And they ain't gonna extend it for free.

Although, ideally it should've gone to York, but that isn't a major issue.

I suppose. It would be great if every user who has interests in the London Underground or Overground put which route they would like the most to feature within this forums page.

People will only make those suggestions if they want them.

Underground/Overground obviously isn't on their list.

There are loads of forums threads about the Underground and Overground so it would be surprising if not many people want it.

Even if you do not admire the London Underground or Overground, which of the London routes on those trains networks would you like the most.

The Central line also terminates at Hainault and has a shuttle to Woodford. For the majority of the day, trains from Hainault finish at Ealing Broadway and White city and trains from Epping and Loughton finish at Northolt and West Ruislip. They also have other destination such as North Acton, Leytonstone, Newbury Park, Grange Hill via Woodford and Ruislip Gardens
