Not as good as the trains it replaces also if this were to happen I hope DTG don't make a mess of the 323 sounds

This would be better off in London Midland era since I don't think DTG have a WMT licence

Wouldn't WMR Licencing be better as its more modern but london midland would be more historic

    1) It's abellio, who don't do licensing.
    2) This thread has been dead for quite a while, as the previous post in the thread was over a month ago.

I personally don’t like the livery the class 170 and 323’s have been painted in- would rather it be London midland

If this ever happened I hope we would see the
Old electrics of the cross city line bundle

With the class 304 or 308

I'd quite like to see this route done immediately prior to privatization so we could see the 323s in their original liveries, which is probably under the BR licence, even if it was subsequently used by Centro/National Express for a time. Also I would quite like to see the bland old New St station towered over by the pre-refurb Rotunda.

An issue with post-privatization setting is that for New St in particular AI trains would massively improve the setting, but there must be dozens of defunct or near-defunct operators that operated throughout the privatization years, and getting even one additional licence from a company to make New St look anywhere near busy would probably be more time consuming/costly than it was worth. With the BR era, so long as there are a couple of relevant trains delivered in BR liveries (fingers crossed for a regional sprinter and IC swallow HST sometime soon) you could do a good job of padding out the station with AI services. Add in the Rush Hour improvements to making timetables busier and you might be able to do a halfway decent job of being stuck on standing-room only 323 outside New St waiting for an available platform on a miserable Tuesday morning in 1995!

I’d personally like to see it in the London midland or centro era because the wmr 323 and 170 livery looks horrible

This would literally be my perfect route, especially with the Class 323. I'm almost certain that when this route was being shown off for Train Simulator 2022, Matt said it was originally on the drawing board as for being a TSW add-on but for whatever reason, it was changed to Train Simulator. I definitely think this would be a good add-on for TSW. I'm all for your suggestion.

It would mean a far thinner timetable for the 323s though. The Redditch branch was single track until fairly recently when it was made double through Alvechurch to increase the number of trains per hour, and it was only when the new station was built that the line was electrified all the way to Bromsgrove.
