The DB Class 407 Velaro D is a high-speed electric multiple unit operated by Deutsche Bahn on Germany’s Intercity-Express (ICE) network. Built by Siemens as part of the Velaro family, the Class 407 entered service in the early 2010s and was designed for both domestic German services and international operation. The train is capable of speeds of up to 320 km/h (199 mph) and uses distributed traction, with traction equipment spread throughout the train rather than concentrated in separate locomotives. The eight-car formation provides a spacious interior with 1st and 2nd class accommodation, a restaurant/bistro area and modern passenger facilities. Its multi-system electrical equipment allows it to operate under different railway electrification systems, making the 407 particularly suitable for international services towards France and Belgium **PRIMARY ROUTE** Nurnberg - Ingolstadt.- adding additional ICE services along the route, and allowing it to go close to its top speed, at 300kph **LAYERS ON OTHER ROUTES** Nurnberg - Wurzburg - adding additional ICE services on the route alongside the ICE1 and ICE4 Kassel - Wurzburg - adds additional ICE traffic on the line Frankfurt - Fulda - adds additional ICE traffic alongside the ICE T.
Could also run on the Mannheim Kaiserslaughtern route too! Some remodelling could also make it work for Eurostar services (branded or not) on SEHS
They also run Cologne to Aachen. Had one last year. Also they run occasionally on the Munich-Nuremberg-Wurzburg-Frankfurt.... line. Kind regards.
