The DB 420s are still going strong on S12 and S19 in Koeln, so it'd be nice to see them on some SKA services when the DLC comes out. This is last week

If we get the 420 integrated in the current timetables, they are from the 7. & 8. Batch.

Was there a confirmation from tsg which era is the 420 based?

Maybe we get the modern and a historic type ;).

I do believe TSG commented on such a rhing previously. It's not possible to make the BR 420 substitute for a BR 423 without creating a fully separate timetable for it, as the game currently requires trains to have the same amount of coaches in order to substitute for one another, and the 420 consists of 3 coaches, whereas the 423 consists of 4.

I guess its not possible because the stopping points. Instead of billboards they should focus on fundamental problems like that.

Another thing is, that the max speed of DB BR 420 is 120km/h, which is 20km/h slower than DB BR 423. This would make difficult to keep timetable, because the S-Bahn timetables of SKA are designed for trains with maximum speed of 140km/h, too tight tor DB BR 420.

Isn't it based on unit length rather than number of vehicles? 3 cars of a 420 is about the same length as a 4 car 423 I think - it's how they were able to sub them in in real life. And given that the real timetable allows for 420s the lower speed shouldn't be a problem - you can run 143s on 112 services for example.

I guess there will be enough scenarios on the CC with the 420 on several other routes. So even if it's not layered into the timetable (which is not going to happen, as it would be inaccurate), there will be enough possibilities by the community.

I've actually seen that but the thing is this DTG got the S-Bahn Köln 423 as a bundle with SD40 Clinchfield in CSX 1990s paint aluminium 1972 stock new journey. Which is now appearing on the loading screen. At least the DB BR420 S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr Köln solves the problem of getting an older train to run S-Bahn Köln S12 S19.

driverwoods#1787 I'm sorry, I don't want to be mean, but your posts always contain so many unnecessary additional information (like "which is now appearing on the loading screen" or the voltage data of a route etc.), which makes reading your often very well done posts very hard. Or hard to understand. Maybe try to stay on topic, so a discussion is easier to follow :)

I like the thing about the voltage of routes. Maybe in tsw its not relevant, but a lot of the entusiasts here compare with the real counter part. This can be trains or a route.

Power & infrastructure is a big thing in the world of railroading.

Its just fact the tsw community has fans from casual gamers up to people do railroading as their profession.

Thats a giant plus for tsw, it does well as a game and a sim to the same time.

I always think of in terms of that because I used to when I was young I used to read Model Railroader magazines since some of the magazine issues go into technical details each locomotive. That's what my comments are like that.

I never said that. There will be no Köln Livery as this would need a completely different train model.

Trains made by tsg never disappointed me. In fact they all topped my expectations. Looking forward to the 420.

Day1 purchais without even a preview stream. Actually the g6 made me go into german routes. Even if i had all in my collection, i was driving almost uk only.
