anyway, since I want to get better at this, I would appreciate any tips - in case I manage to get Sifa Zwangsbremsung, is there any way I can get brakes to release faster so I dont stop? I tried Brake Release, Brake Overcharge, Quick Release on Train Brake... it is not that I love to get those penalty applications, but I want to be ready when it happens... not like you can prevent it every single time, but yeah, I want to know what to do, and better
With AFB on, after a penalty brake you have to go back to 0 with the traction power, than apply power again. (Sifa, Pzb / Lzb Zwangsbremsung) Well i saw right now you did that already.., so need to test first
thanks, any help would be appreciated ... not like I love to get those Sifa penalties, but if I do, I want to be able to recover as quickly as possible... cos usually on other locos (I know they are not done this deeply, but still) you just press Q, and the brakes release fairly quickly, so while you lose a lot of speed, you are still moving at at least some speed and able to recover here your speed declines so fast and the brakes release so slow that only with luck you are still moving if you get one of these... so I am trying to figure out what to do... I suspect with this deep level of simulation, I must have missed something edit: on Dresden Riesa it is more extreme cos the consist is shorter... tried it with maximum speed set at 200 and 160 kph in the train data setup, and it seemed that when I set the maximum speed at lower level, the brakes were slightly less aggressive, but still very strong and slow to release
The windows of the cab car turned grey at the start of the first timetable service in journeymode in Salzburg route PS5
So far I'm happy to see a quite a bit of the issues found are cosmetic ones Job well done (hope I didn't jinxed it )
Hey, I wasn't able to get the 2nd Loco to show up in the MTD. I am using the steam version. Both 101s were set to "ZDS 120" and I was also able to get them to apply power. In reality you would be able to see the overhead voltage and the status of the MCB of both locos and also release the direct brake of the 2nd loco. Other than that I am really impressed with the 101. I hope the expert line will be continued to other vehicles in the future.
Lovely DLC, really appreciate how much hard work has gone into the scripting and art for this thing. Glitches I noticed No rain on cab car windows (already acknowledged) In the 101 the cab light asset always appears on. Had a problem where I couldn't toggle off the engine room lights on my first run. Couldn't reproduce it later on though. Typical. Can't hear safety systems in ext cams. I would have appreciated a key bind shortcut to switch off sifa. At least in the cab car as there doesn't seem to be a way of isolating it. (Unless I miss something) Internal Lok number shows 101 - 000 Edit. I'm on Steam
Good Morning everyone, what's the status with the RailDriver now? I've read, it works in the 101 but not in the Steuerwagen? (Fell asleep yesterday while downloading the DLC and suddenly I'm at work again lol)
In the cabcar, the PZB Frei button has no beeping sound to it. Other than that, its just insanely good. Really. Nothing else to wish for. Questions though: 1. Doesnt matter if I'm in the 101 or the cabcar, sometimes (I think always when coming to a stop and opening the doors) the Zugsammelschiene turns off. Any explanation to that? 2. In the cabcar, what exactly does the "Bremse" overhead indicator mean? 3. When using the electric brake only and lets say fully utilizing it with 100Kn of force. And then going back to 0, sometimes the electric brake force is returning very fast to 0 and sometimes it takes quite some time. Whats the influencing factor here?
The standard BR 101 has a notable fps impact, even on PS5. Nothing dramatic, but notable. How is the Expert 101 behaving here? I'd appreciate any comment.
Hello. I'd like to say that I am very impressed of how complex locos can be done in TSW! It is a pretty cool and challenging thing. However there doesnt seem support for hardware like the raildriver. I stopped using keyboard commands long ago when driving trains. Sadly now we are back to keyboard as the Steuerwagen and the Loco dont work with the raildriver hardware which is a bit sad. Please be so Kind and add support for it. It would be a shame if the best simulated train in TSW history cant be driven in the best possible way. Rgds PC
I would add one curiosity that I dont uderstand. in scenario Sweaty Palms, (where should be so hot summer oudside), there was about three times when I got my cab window fogged and had to put on window defrost / heating that fixed it. I’ve turned on my cab AC right at the begginig of ride at about 24c, I just dont understand how can my windows become fogged and where did I made a mistake. I thoguht that at least using AC in train is same asi in my car
The feedback on various threads to this DLC are interesting. What I have noticed is that like 8 out of 10 'Bug Reports' are false and simple RTFM issues. A lot people would have more fun with this if they would actually read through the manual. I enjoy it so far on XBox Series X, and despite my fears about playing this with a controler, the handling on MFDs, Circuit boards and so on are not to bad. It is a bit tricky sometimes when the clickspots are behind the AFB leaver or such though since you can not use shortcuts on console.
It‘s strange. The number of times I‘ve see the question, ‘Where’s the manual?’ For other releases where DTG never provided one. Now TSG provides the mother of all manuals and people don’t read it! I’ve been wanting to shout at my TV watching some streams. Much credit to the creators for sticking around the forum and giving insight on how things work and which ones are real bugs. I’m enjoying the manual as much as the train at the moment. It’s really amazing to have a DLC with so much detail. It makes the rest of the TSW trains look very simple and game like. Finally we have the level that is actually a simulation and is properly difficult when something goes wrong.
So if I’m reading this correctly, the extra internal views for the screens etc have fixed cameras like very early TSW locos and the centre dot cannot be moved to the buttons that need to be pressed. If so, this alone is enough for me not to buy this as it would appear that functionality for console players has not been properly considered during development. It is even more important in a DLC where so much use of all the screens, buttons and switches is essential to the playability of the trains. It’s a standard thing in TSW to have movable cameras for all views and all DLC should have it as standard because all DLC is available on console. Hopefully it can be addressed in an update.
After I installed BR101 Expert DLC, when i try to enter any service of Salzburg-Rosenheim,(even not the 101Expert service) the game crashes. Anyone knows how should I do?
1. Nothing I can think of really other than if you close the cab (reverser to "0"/"Off") or pass a neutral section. It is feasible that you got a fault for the "Train Heating" circuit breaker, but that wouldn't occur regularly. 2. It means that the rear locomotive's air brakes or parking brakes are still applied. 3. If you are applying and releasing it below 10 km/h what you are seeing is just the drop off in force, rather than a fast release. Otherwise the difference is with regards to whether the indirect (train) brake has been applied together with the electric brake. If there is any air in the brake cylinder control pipe (not the actual brake cylinders, which get vented when electric brake is applied, except direct brake) the locomotive slows down the release of the electric brakes to match how long it would take for air brakes to release. The rate for the increase will also slow down in brake mode "G".
This is something you would be best served by making a bug ticket directly to DTG for, but if you are on steam you can try to verify integrity of the game (right click on TSW4 in the library -> Properties -> Installed Files -> "Verify integrity of game files". If that doesn't work, try to uninstall and reinstall the DLC. I don't know if Epic has something similar but I would assume so.
Just started a service at Salzburg and immediately had a fault, 34F82. According to the actions I should reset the LSS which didn't work, so following the "IF NOT SUCCESSFUL" step, this said to continue driving with 2 HBUs. However, thanks to this fault (or a bug) I was unable to close the main circuit breaker and so could never start the service to try and continue with 2 HBUs only. EDIT: Just to say, I love this new layer of uncertainty in-game. In this case, if it was real-world the service would have been cancelled. Things like this are great, and are really adding a new element to the sim. I'm running with chaos factor at 1x to hopefully stay realistic, although this is now the third service where I've had a fault after spawning.
Next time this happens, move the MCB to "Open" (with cab active), it should release the "HS-Sperre" (main circuit breaker lock).
I tried this plus lowering and raising the pantograph but it didn't work, hence the suggestion it could be a bug.
Just had a 35Q42 while driving at one point I think I had a HBU "regrouping" as the HS dropped out and I had to close the main breaker again and then apply train power. After this things were OK. After arriving at Rossheim I was able to go into the engine room, reset the breaker (which again tripped HS), return to the cab, close the main breaker, apply train power, and the fault was resolved I'm loving this train more and more, although again I'll reiterate that I'm at chaos factor 1x and it seems I'm getting faults quite often, even in small 30 minute runs.
Only one thing to complain about so far, and that is the window tint. Makes everything look washed out from the cab (low contrast/saturation)
I usually have ZS aus at the beginning of service, for some reason, so I turn the Train line power switch back on, didnt notice if it comes back off, will have to play more the thing is, in most other DLCs, it was and still is hard to tell if sth is a bug or a feature... and this new DLC, cos it is so deeply done, y know, ppl still arent used to the fact that now many of those things happening might actually be train faults ... hell, I am not used to it, because lets say with Sifa being even more strict than usual if you forget about it, I might just have missed sth that would make my life easier but I guess it is so deeply ingrained by this point that many weird things happening are sth many players think of as a bug... will take probably some time with this product and many threads/posts till many of us learn to discern what can be solved with the manual and problem solving and what is indeed a bug cos I guess most of us arent real rail drivers
Love this DLC, but having no Raildriver with the cab car is annoying! Please add proper Raildriver support! And remap/replace the direkt brake by AFB. Also try to use the keyboard and you will see some annoying behavior like "P" sets panto instantly into emergency, sand switch direction is flipped, cab car throttle is unable to be placed into Z range.
is the ZS aus that thing that causes the battery to drain if you dont use the Train line power switch to make it go away?
Hmm ... I am damp script I am stuck at the station with a joking task for opening doors that will open and close so. And the icons of both doors are activated on the interface. And periodically, the PZB system did not want to drop. I hope this will be fixed or then disable the entire security system and ride so ...
Halt stop! Before jumping to "it has to be a bug", check: - master key in Forward, back or middle position - ZSG / ASG ready? - HS aus -- move to open again - ZS off - pantograph active with key - availble air (min. 4bar from the main res or the hilfsluftcompressor) LSS "oberspannungswandler" on This loco is a beast and ill be busy for a while before going to something different, thats for sure. TSG made a phenomenal job.
Thank you very much for this great DLC. I love the realisim of this train. In my opinion this DLC brings the word Simulation to Train Sim World. Of cause, not everyone will love this, because I think, that there are a lot of casual players, who just want to sit in their seat and start driving a train. But personally for me, who loves high details in simulations, this is a great thing. Also the sound is great. Can't compare how realistic it is, but it sounds very good. This would have been a step for a future TSW 5 (or however it will be named, we will find out soon ), introducing minor features like TOD5, or whatever So thank you TSG and the Team behind for this very nice job ❤️ Keep up the good work.
Figured out my door issue, had a ZS aus light on that I was being oblivious to. I wasn’t starting it back up after passing neutral sections. Now I’m having a good time. Again, for those of you on controller… try turning your look speed down to “2”. Might feel super slow at first, but I got used to it, and I now have no issues clicking buttons on the screens while on the move. You might hate it but just give it a chance for a few runs. Best we’ve got until dtg add mouse support to console versions.
Must admit, I have purchased this dlc, but feel intimidated by all the German phrases being passed around in the thread. I have the manual and has started to explore it and hope, with time, will understand what some of these terms mean. I can see help is here as needed. I also am lucky to have a dual monitor setup so can have the manual open on one screen as I try to get used to this expert 101 on the other.
ZS is "Zugsammelschiene" which means the Power Supply to the train. Without passenger wagons it can be off. Having active passenger wagons behind you, it must be ON. "Aus" means "off"
I have problems with the doors. They close away but the game doesn't see that they are closed (So I can't do the next quest because it stays on lock doors with a green bar) I think this is a bug?
Would suggest you read this thread, it is about this issue and posted by a TSG member. Br101 Expert: For Those With Door Issues. | Dovetail Games Forums
I've done one service and after 3 emergency PZB brakes becasue my head was stuck in the MFD trying the various sub-menus,I can already say that I'm proficient in reseting the emergency brakes Then I spent some 20 minutes in free roam trying cold starts, and various data entries. Every question I had so far I've found answered in the manual (i.e. why the train won't take my data in the MFD variant). Also the one fault I had was easily solved with the manual. So far I'm loving this DLC, and I really hope it is successful, as I would love more locos being done with this kind of modeling, love and attention to detail. I can see this quickly becoming my most running loco
I like it. Please more of that expert line! The more realism the better. But the Cab car tutorial does not seem to be completeable. After changing to the Cab car and having put down and upped the panto again, the MCB does not close, no matter what I do... (PS5)
Hello I noticed another small error - The parkingbrake of the Avmmz Wagon Expert is a bit broken (pictures down below) The hand knob floats in the air while turning the wheel.
cwf.green Regarding the „brake“ indicator in the cab car. Its always lit up for me except for when I actually apply the electric brake. As soon as I apply the electric brake its gone. Although I have to admit the „STOERUNG“ Indicator is also lit, but none of the in the manual described faults that would trigger the Brake indicator fit. EDIT: after my first stop of the service it was extinguished. Braked as usual vis the FBV and electric brake, when coming to the stop released them both and applied the direct brake. Now at the second stop when I came to a standstill and the FBV was not yet released the brake indicator was on, but was the air brake was releasing again it came off.
that light must be on or off? I assumed I must turn the Train Line switch On so the light goes off, right? and this does exactly what? keeps the power from overhead wire so it doesnt drain the battery?
ZS = Zugsammelschiene... Its the power supply for the coaches. So you have it turned on (the light must me turned off). After the border crossing between Österreich and Deutschland and other power cut, the blue wite triangle type EL points on any line you have to turn them manual on. Always if you close the MCB the light will be turned on. Turn the ZS ASAP on otherwise the train drains the power and could be drains the batteries
