This german 185.5 locomotive is said to have 4 pantograms, what this mean and hows this different from the 185.2 DB&Railon Red versions of this eletric locomotive? I have just seen something that the said that this locomotive goes to other countries and they may use different overwire voltage for there trains so could this be why the db br 185.5 has a extra set of pantograms?
Because the DB BR 185.5 is made to operating across different countries and with different power supply. You can manage this feature from the main display (screen 1) through the function NETZ (button 0 on thie display). Obviously outside the DB railway (if you change configuration and pantograph, example the francaise SNFC) the loco dont move.
So the 2nd set of pantograms serve no perpose currently with no other contries for db br 185.5 to visit.
