Two third-party loco add-ons coming out on the same day...

    …this could get fascinating.

I hope this locomotive uses the overtaking tracks between Cologne and Düren. In real life freight trains are being overhauld their by REs, Thalys and ICEs.

Why does the loco only has 2 lights turned on?
Germany requires a 3 light front signal, please look into that.
    Thank you

Brake settings like with DRA freight trains?
    And many other questions...
    Can't wait to test it.

Not a very informative article - reminds me of the premiere of superior BR 101.

Can this run RSN RRO HRR Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg Main Spessart Bahn Hamburg-Lübeck former West Germany Deutsche Bundesbahn and the former East Germany Deutsche Reichsbahn Riesa-Dresden. A realistic option here should have been introducing a new wagon the Ibhhps used to transport beer and refrigerated Goods. Roos-t 645 came back from RSN

I quite like the look of that, but the finish looks a bit odd. Is it just the lighting or has it got that same, flat, plasticky look that the 425 has? Like it really ought to be a bit glossier? Without proper reflections, it looks more like something from TS.

Edit: They're properly glossy in real life. The model looks like it's made of textured plastic with no sharp reflections at all.

I hope there‘ll be at least one preview stream. I‘ve got a lot of questions and concerns regarding this loco. I‘m afraid such a basic mistake like wrong marker light configurations don‘t exactly inspire confidence in me though I do very much hope my concerns are unfounded.

Wow, 54 new services! Maybe this will open up some of the previously unused areas of Köln-Aachen? Nonetheless very happy for the freight fans, enjoy!

Thanks this post answered almost all my questions. I just have one left: Will it also substitute into services on SKA and is that additional to the 54?

What effect will adding this loco to Dresden have on the stability of the route, especially when there are already crashing issues due to memory issues?

This one came a bit out of nowhere these days - but nevertheless it looks nice and welcome. I'm looking forward to it - hopefully there won't be so many dealbreaking bugs alongside the release and it's nice to see that SKA gets some more action. It felt quite dull to be honest as nearly every service followed a strict pattern and there wasn't much new to be seen if you drove every service type once...

So I'm definetely looking forward to it. :)

Well then, knowing that it runs quite a bit on other routes, this will likely be my most wanted loco add-on now. Hopefully it will provide a nice freight experience, especially curious about Köln-Aachen, since it’s mostly a high speed line.

This right here is the most important question. I guess we will have to see it in action on a preview stream!

It won't, both the type of loco mentioned in the article as well as the fact it is a BR187 mean it will not have the last mile technology unfortunately.

Clarification on Koln services - it's 54 total, including the new ones, I think about 20 or so more than there was before.

Does that mean that on for example on RSN they only substitute on the base route services, and not on those that the BR 155 and BR 363 loco add-ons add? Or do you get even more substitution on those routes if you have these added services from loco add-ons?

Also can we expect a preview stream? :)

The BR187 is the version that DOES have the Diesel engine, and even a small battery to drive short sections on battery power. The real life unit also has a remote control unit so the driver can do shunting and coupling operations by himself.

Will the 187 activate all 54 services even if one does not have the layer add-ons or only 20?

I also hope. The last mile would take this locomotive to the next level. This locomotive would be universal on all German factory sidings.

In real life this locomotive has an auxiliary diesel engine installed as standard. And someone said it before, this locomotive is supposed to run with 3 lights, not 2. Which questions me a bit with how the rest of this locomotive is made..

The last mile engine is only an option for those locomotives, and the DB did not buy that option, so the BR 187 in-game should not have the last mile.

Yeah i'd also like to add, as mentioned as above, in the screenshots it's using high beams without 3rd light, hopefully this gets corrected before release

Is it just me or does it look like the locomotive is floating ever so slightly above the rails?

I'm guessing it doesn't come with any new freight wagons, as it's not mentioned in the article? Still holding out hope for a German freight car pack at some point.

Hoping the 20 new services on SKA add a little variety in terms of operations.

I'm gonna pick this up though since it can sub on so many other routes. Stil on the fence about the 1938 tube stock....

why do I ask? No trophies on the PS side of things
    Haven’t looked on Xbox.

All loco DLC’s have these and curious where they are? Cheers

and great job on the stream tonight.

I believe in the article it mentioned navigating through yards and following timetables to not slow down express services.
Hopefully not too far fetched, but maybe with these new services we will be able to access some of the numerous yards along the route. This would by the way also mean that there will be more wagons standing about in the yards when passing by.
The timetable thing was interesting as well. Again, hopefully not reading too much into it, but maybe we do actually get time goalds for reaching certain points? that would be a new feature for freight I believe.
But even if not, knowing that you enter a busy railway from a siding is cool anyway.
Certainly gonna get that as long as it is working properly, it is absolutely awesome that you get to substitute german locos this easily and can use them almost anyhwere without scenario planner hazzle.

I had read that part of the reason it was moved to the Koln route is because Skyhook wanted to utilize the last mile technology. There are a couple areas that aren’t electrified on this route that would make use of this I believe?
EDIT: The article confirms this with this statement “One of the most appealing features of this locomotive is that it can be configured to run anywhere needed, featuring the latest technologies and a sleek new design it really is the pinnacle of European heavy freight locomotives.”

Yeah. Better get that extra light on otherwise a computer A.I train might not see you or a A.I passenger might walk onto the track. Like Seriously? Is this really a huge deal??

It's a immersion breaker indeed as you would never see a train in germany with such light configuration and as lights tend to be seen usually it's something noticable.

But since it should be an easy fix I hope this doesn't make it into release.
