A nice addition to the BR 218 would be the DB Regio high-floor double-decker carriage, which is still widely used today. blick-auf-einen-doppelstockwagen-2-1233202.jpg hocheinstiegs-dosto-d-db-50-80-26-75-1251328.jpg

Its a shame these still dont exist, even on routes like HBL which dont use low entry dostos in real life. They look way more clean and better too. Next route with dostos better has those high entry ones.

I don't get why so many want them. At the end of the day, they're more or less the same red dosto that we already have but still require a rebuild. Shouldn't DTG put their effort into new waggons that also "look" and "feel" new? Like older generation of Dostos? x-Wagen? m-Wagen?

Same here. Don't get me wrong, I'd appreciate having those Dosto's in TSW, sure. But I agree that the effort would be better invested into something that adds a little bit more variety to the rolling stock, like the x- or m-Wagen mentioned above. Or even n-Wagen with Wittenberge cab which could sub into the existing n-Wagen services.

It is more about accuracy on the routes, and variation. Yes they look mostly the same, but still it will bring a new vibe on routes, mix of low and high door dostos. Most area's use the high doors ones anyway :)

I aggree, that instead of having new Dostos which gameplay whise don't add anything new to the game, it would be better to get entirly new coaches. The question is: What coaches? The x-Wagen are a possibility, but on a national scale, these were only used in certain areas and couldn't be reused on a different route. The m-Wagen are "just" a older version of the Eurofima coaches, which we already have in the form of the IC coaches. So they add about as much as new Dostos.
On the other hand, the Dostos were the backbone of the German regional services for over 25 years. And whilst their monopoly has been ended in the last few years, with the introduction of more EMUs, they are still used everywhere in the country. The problem is that in the five genertations of Dostos, there have been over 100 different constructions. Of course I don't expect to get like a dozen different Dostos, but at least a high-entry version would break the monotonous look of the Dosto trains ingame. The current Dostos are all one construction, every coach has a bicycle storage at the lower deck. As far as I know there is no service in Germany at all, where all coaches have a bicycle storage. Normally it's just on in the cab car or two in services with high demand.
If there were any other highly requestes coaches I would understand that DTG should rather focus on those, but now we have the n-Wagen and IC coaches. The only family of coaches which we don't have in the game yet are the x-Wagen and whilst they're highly requested by fans of the Ruhr area routes, they don't add to the rest of the German route. So I think a new type of Dosto coach is a reasonable request.
As a compromise I've also suggested a Dosto DLC a few years ago, which would add a lot more variations at once:
Doppelstockwagen Expansion Pack (Bombardier Twindexx Vario)
