Noticed that too.. ouch. To be fair it does look like it would be fun if your into VR. I think the whole having an apartment thing is unnecessary though…. Why ???.

 

It's not the graphics it's the way it sounds and drives. It looks fine as do all of Rivets stock.

 

They went the wrong direction with VR, if it couldn’t have been implanted into TSW, even on a route by route basis, then it should have been entirely separate from it IMO.

It’s a common trend now that DTG are using TSW’s large userbase to market their other loosely related products. I don’t really care for a fictional tram sim, or a sims style Train Sim VR experience etc. They should be kept separate to TSW’s info posts IMO.

I’d imagine anyone interested in those titles would prefer their announcements to be separate too, not mixed into a sea of info for TSW.

To be honest with the exception of one of the reveals, I do think they are being overly criticised. I don't know what people were expecting...

For the most part I've really enjoyed them.

My understanding in advance was there was no roadmap for December, so Season of Reveals sort of stepped in it's place temporarily and gave us insight and glimpses of upcoming routes. I've been reasonably impressed so far with the exception of day one.

If VR isn't for you then fair enough, but overall it isn't effecting the base game itself, and is sort of a completely separate, but still an extension of the TSW franchise, so I don't know why it's getting some of the unnecessary remarks about it's likeability. It's not for me personally as I can't be bothered with VR myself.

But I think it'll certainly appeal to a younger audience and act as a possible entry level into the more sophisticated TSW content.

An update is information you didn't have. The photos of the Tadami line for example were "revealed" to you. You didn't have them before.
DTG is doing exactly what they promised.
If you wanted something different, then that's on you.
They never said they'd have "20 days of all new releases."

As Sierra said, it's like a fancy, Christmas themed roadmap.

If you think you have it bad, imagine you're a TSC player and get nothing at all.

Remember the default is what most companies do which is....nothing.

I've enjoyed the reveals. It's just like a roadmap, not everything is going to be of interest and a lot we already have an inkling about.

So far the American loco, the gameplay packs, the JT class 86 and the fleshed out information regarding the Cardiff route have all been of interest. The VR route could be interesting as I have considered getting a VR headset. I took hope they would do something with the lighting first.

I do wonder if the big reveal will end up being underwhelming as has happened before, but if it is I'm sure it won't be for everyone.

 

This “Big Reveal” is interesting lol. Alex has been hyping it up a bit too in his posts. But keeping expectations lower is always the best thing to do to save yourself disappointment. Only 8 days away.

 

Again how is the “VR” exactly a reveal, it’s not as if we didn’t know it was coming.
Not for me anyhow as, 1. I have a lazy left eye so essentially monocular vision and, 2. Wife already bleats about me ignoring her playing games on the monitor, so wearing a VR headset would go down like a lead balloon.

Let’s just hope tomorrow is something more significant, on a par with the JT reveal last Friday - something we didn’t already know about.

TSW VR - based at least on this Forum's reaction to it - seems like it will go down as a gimmick and little more.
If the entire game is Harlem Line - which even in the main game is an abridged version of real thing - with it's entire improvement on the mainline game being an apartment to replace a main menu, then it's little an answer to the main cries of TSW in VR.

Given that people have played TSW in VR before and it worked relatively well, then surely that could have been used as a base, allowing for the majority of the collection to be used rather than one route?

Just my 2¢, of course. I don't have VR but not something I'm ruling out, but TSW VR definitely doesn't look like it will be in the picture for me.

Well, this VR "reveal" doesn't exactly pull my socks off, to be honest. I don't own any VR equipment, nor do I intend to buy some just for TSW.

Continental Europe drew the short stick this week, eh?

Starting to think that the "big surprise" at the end is gonna be something I don't really wanna be surprised with. Like DTG taking over the Transport Fever franchise perhaps...

 

The VR thing isn't for me but for those who have it I hope they enjoy it, I'll be a bit miffed though if they do a UK route for it that isn't available otherwise.

 

Corrrect me if I am wrong, but apart from the 153 I don't believe we have had any new route or loco announcements from DTG yet.

 

We've had two, the American loco and the Japanese DMU for the Tadami line

 

They said that most will be just updates on existing roadmap items. Plus some of there non TSW product updates as well.

Possibly the big reveal will be a new route. Or a new frieght loco for the UK.

 

A Christmas miracle if that happens.

The Metrolink loco is the only other new DTG announcement as of yet.

 

More likely another festive themed route similar to what they did with the Holiday Elf one.

 

I think they’d be leaving it a bit late to release something like that on the 20th. If such a thing existed they’d more likely release it late November/early December to maximise Christmas sales.

 

It's a gimmick and as such this "reveal" stays true to the DTG playbook i.e. pumping out hyped up propaganda about great new things coming while actually offering very little that's new and interesting. Instead of offering new vehicles and non-linear routes we get endless reskins, boring routes and now gimmicks like this VR thing. DTG is very much like Apple in this sense.

 

As there was to be no roadmap this month, DTG decided to do a roadmap similar to the reveals in Dovetail Direct in the summer, plus updates on City Transport Tram and TSW VR!

This route is going to be fantastic. The Krokodil looks like it will be interesting to drive. I love the blue and cream 111.

As this route was first announced I was really disappointed that it’s set almost 20 years before I was born- so at a time I wasn’t around actually…
But after seeing the screenshots (especially the crocodile ones) I have to admit that I‘m reaaaally thrilled!
This looks amazing!
Definitely at the same level as Just train- that’s for sure!!!
I mean: A whole list of new rolling stock!
When did we have something like that before for Germany?

 

Peak forest I am interested in. German stuff looks decent also but need to learn systems etc

This Friday reveal (while not totally a "reveal" since the route has already been announced), was totally worth the wait in my opinion!

The route itself is a beauty IRL, and that seems to have been translated well into the game! Very promising, the images and especially the list of rolling stock make me look forward to this very, very much

Can't wait to get my hands on this beast that's the E94!

 

Call me crazy, but what if the 20th December reveal is the DB BR 420 at last?

At least the 104 PFR pack hasn't gone stagnant. Refreshing to hear there's at least an update!

I can't believe the 104 pack was on the 1-3 months of release phase so long ago and we've only had these two screenshots lol. Seems it's taking them a long time which is unfortunate!

But I'd rather them take their time and do it right!

 

I personally doubt we'll get anymore info in regards to Cargo line 3 and 4 as I recall hearing it has been severely delayed and I doubt they are going to reveal anything that we don't already know about the packs.

 

These Mittenwaldbahn screenshots look amazing. I love that Krokodil loco.

 

Screenshots of the route of course look bombastic - but I personally am not interested in such a route 1) 1989 is not my year - 90s I would accept 2) too difficult route in terms of driving - lots of altitude differences

 

No you should not take that to serious... Its very close to release and i think they want not spoil to much or this video is recorded in end summer....

 

I'm also not a fan of backdated routes. And since DTG never make both a modern and old version of a route, I am a bit saddened that we will not get to experience a modern Mittenwaldbahn.

The route looks absolutely stunning. Although I don't have much knowledge about it I am tempted to get it.

Nice to hear about the 104 pack, new wagons always welcome. Just hoping it's on track for release in the not too distant future!!

 

Today is my favourite reveal so far. Always wanted a Krokodil in the game. Would have preferred a Swiss one, but I’m happy for this.
