The " Racetrack " was 3rd party and released without the Metra logo for licensing reasons. The logo was almost immediately added unofficially by a modder.

This would, of course, not be possible in TSW.

The Metra brand succeeded a number of previous railroads, some of which, like Chicago and North Western, Norfolk & Western and Rock Island are fallen flags, others like NS, BNSF and UP still exist.

BNSF and UP crews still operate their respective commuter lines under the Metra brand.

There are plenty around, but how few are in running order (and have a place to run)?

Hence why I noted getting the sounds as the big problem, The IRM and the CSRM doesn't have the space, UP's ones aren't running and have a single 645 in them, they aren't close to being authentic internally.

Welp, now High Iron Simulations might have plans for TSW.

Get ready for scenerio and retro packs with incorrect details......

Depending on how you look at it.

HIS , including Gary, hasn't really been good at receiving critical feedback.

Such as this relating to incorrect details with the Feather River enhancement that's coming for TSC.

    Late to party buuut
First DTM and now High Iron. Really gonna hate to see what these two have planned for TSW now (give or take the feedbacks from their past TSC works), even if the fear of them being 3rd party partners for not only TSC, but for TSW as well. Once they figured out the PC Editor that is.

Reppo right now is the only bright outlook for US stuff in TSW, I hope he will be able to figure out the editor over time.

Run8 is in my opinion overrated. From what I can see the graphics are awful and the whole thing can get very expensive if you build it up. It should be priced on the basis of a 2009 game, 15 years old.
It’s all about simulation above enjoyment from what I can see, you get Run8 snobs too who think they are superior because they can play it successfully! I’d rather watch paint dry.

I can understand their ambition to produce for TSW, given the dearth of US stuff ...
Glass half full or half empty, it is still only a 50% fulfillment. So DTM, TBT and HIS better not, unless they re-invent themselves and start from scratch on the new platform.
I suppose the 'standard of excellence' required in the DTG partner programme is only disclosed to those who sign up with ready made propositions and something to show for them already, and then still you get full price 'proof of concept' DLC like West Cornwall Local and Cane Creek full of faults and of limited play value.

BTW: has the rear truck on the AC4400 finally been corrected?

Guess what... No. And green artefacts are still on place in winter (cane creek). Shame on you Skyhook.

I still think Skyhook ought to ask the Brotherhood of Nod if they can borrow a few Tiberium harvesters to clean up Cane Creek. With luck, they will mishear the name and be entirely on board.

  15. I push for an unbranded dual freight and passenger route (about half and half) from Chicago to Byron. Using IC&E which I think Canadian National now?

It would be epic if we could get a Chicago North Western route even if two of the locomotives and a few freight vehicles were just rebranded from Cajon and Clinchfield. Union Pacific is the license holder now so it shouldn't be too hard to license.

Having a freight route that doesn't involve a mountain pass would be a real treat. Byron would be quite flat (no mountain pass) but anything west of Chicago in the rural Mid West would be epic. A single line track where you would bring your long freight train to a halt to wait for another would be epic.

A non race track route between Chicago and Kansas City would be awesome too doing 70mph running. You could have Amtrack and freight.
