I appreciate this thread is a little inflammatory, but I suspect that I won’t be the only one who feels this was the only highlight of ‘Dovetail Direct’. I’m aware there is another thread regarding NTP Remaster, so I hope this thread doesn’t detract from the developers well deserved interest in their project. Normally I champion TSW and feel we are very lucky to have a major software developer support such a niche interest, however after today I am not so sure. Like a lot of you, I sat down after a long day at work excited to see what the long awaited Dovetail Direct would reveal. After watching an hour of utter garbage I feel, to be honest, cheated. I appreciate that Dovetail have to cater to their core audience, which I am fully aware is young people with an interest in modern railways. However they must know they have a sizeable number of players who prefer historical routes. The fact that their only acknowledgement of this was a brief acknowledgment of a third party tells me all I need to know.
I do wonder if pixelpunk is going to be a third party that remasters and reworks older routes up to today's standards
So looking forward to this remaster, NTP already has some of my favourite br content so getting it to modern standards is even better
