Hi everyone! I feel like we're probably overdue another London Undeground route, and I can't help but think about how awesome it would be to have the District Line. There are many different services to run from Upminster, Barking and Tower Hill towards Wimbledon, Richmond and Ealing as well as the Edgware Road to Wimbledon run and the Olympia shuttle. To spicen things up a little more it would be fun to set it in the mid 2010s when the S Stock was in the middle of replacing the D Stock to give more variety. Circle Line services could be playable too between Aldgate and Edgware Road as well as driveable Piccadilly services between South Kensington, Acton Town and Ealing Common with the 1972 Stock being a stand-in for the time being. The Hammersmith & City Line services could also be driveable between Barking and Aldgate East and Overground services between Gunnersbury and Richmond. The 1972 Stock will also appear in place of the 1992 Stock at Ealing Broadway for Central Line AI and in place of the 1996 stock at West Ham for Jubilee Line AI. DLR Stock will also be seen at West Ham. Layers: FGW/GWR HSTs and Class 166s at Ealing Broadway Heathrow Connect Class 350s at Ealing Broadway London Overground Class 378 between Gunnersbury and Richmond as well as at West Brompton, Kensington Olympia and Whitechapel C2C Liveried Class 387 between Bromley-By-Bow and Upminster
My local underground line when I was growing up, sadly the route isn't as interesting these days with wall-to-wall S stock. I suspect this route would be far to asset-heavy to be doable in TSW. As I've mentioned before, all of the mainline routes into London in TSW struggle with one run though the urban sprawl of London, any route that goes through London will have two times the amount of suburbia than has been achieved in TSW to date. This is why I think Crossrail or Thameslink won't be appearing in their full forms in TSW any time soon, if ever. DTG had issues with light baking in the subterranean sections of their only Underground route, The Bakerloo Line, and it has been often said since then that another Underground Line is highly unlikely. The possible exception could be the Metropolitan Line, it has a relatively short underground section and doesn't cross the city from side to side like most of the other LU routes.
Would like to see the District Line but hopefully the Metropolitan Line arrives first with start points at Uxbridge, Amersham, Chesham and Watford. Love the TSC version and would like to see it in TSW with the 7 and 8 stock!
