Reposted from DTG's Discord: https://discord.com/channels/1324687416128180286/1511101607817904258 As we all might know, Train Sim World doesn't quite have the best performance on all PCs. Even those with RTX 40/50 and RX 7xxx/90xx GPUs rarely do well on 4K. What better time than now to integrate DLSS/FSR? The main reasons to do this include: Obviously improving framerates. Frame generation often works very well at up to 4x. You instantly get a free performance boost with it. Sure they're "fake frames" but TSW isn't a first person shooter or something so the authenticity does not matter quite as much. It uses what your hardware is capable of more effectively. Whether or not we have an RTX 40+ GPU, we all have relied on Lossless Scaling that costs an extra US$6.99 just for dubious quality frame generation (especially bad with UIs). DLSS/FSR are still much better at frame generation and upscaling because they were designed specifically for acceleration at the silicon level, a step further than Lossless Scaling. In fact right now you can enable Smooth Motion in the Nvidia App for TSW and it instantly gives you double the frames while looking a LOT better than Lossless Scaling! Having these could also make the game more appealing in a broader context, because Nvidia and AMD have often been championing games' DLSS/FSR support. But more importantly, more people will be able to enjoy TSW at a more playable quality. Potentially DTG could get in contact with either of them to develop the best solution. Unfortunately due to the use of Unreal Engine 4.26, only DLSS 3 and (maybe) FSR 3 are possible. Both have stopped updating them ever since Unreal Engine 5.1, but the available code has been known to work well when compiled for 4.26. (Again, do not sh on this post solely because I am promoting the use of an AI-driven technology. This is one of the more feasible features DTG could implement to make the game smoother. I know you all will pointlessly argue for a third Train Simulator series past that...)
I'm no tech expert, but TSW sure could use a performance boost. However, my main issue with TSW is the stuttering, not the fps. It's unclear to me your suggestion would improve stuttering.
This has been discussed so many times already, and according to the production team it adds little value. It has also been repeated multiple times.
