They've already explained why they couldn't get the right sounds for the Talent 1, yes it's unfortunate and disappointing but there isn't really much anyone can do about it.
Thanks for confirming, JD. Disappointing, but expected. I think I'll follow the advice of cwf.green and make more noise about it in the future And what does this have to do with the engine room of the Vectron?
https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...heinstrecke-db-br-103-traversable-engine-room audio sucks as mentioned above but it works
This has been discussed many times in the past. Although two of the oldest locomotives in the game - SPG's GP38 and SD40 - were given modeled engine rooms, it quickly became apparent that they were carrying around a fair load of 3D assets which were almost never seen but placed a heavy performance load on the system.
Simple geometry causes very little strain on modern hardware. It's pretty much only detailed lighting/shaders/textures that will cause an issue. They can fully model it, and just put a lower res texture on it. Would cause no performance problems whatsoever.
Even though I really really with cherry on top would love to have an engine room, even with lo-res graphics, I really think the outcry why it's not modled properly would not be worth the effort. So, in this I can understand, why they don't do it but it really bugs me sometimes. Imagine there is this heavy thunderstorm and you have to leave the cab /o\ ...
