I know it is not to do with this directly, but I see mention in the roadmap of a new British loco by DTG themselves. I don't believe this were mentioned on this direct thing were it?
The roadmap article mentions the ‘other US route’ which has yet to get a license for use, so they can’t tell us it’s Long Island yet.
Then dtg can't do anything until they do. No license or approval, can't move forward. But they plan to add it on the roadmap and share more details later.
It immediately struck me again that the 111 once again used canned sound. How come?! The appeal of the 103 quickly disappeared because the thing sounded and drove like the 110. So are we getting another 110 clone? Please DTG, try a little harder this time.
Probably cuz it sounds similar or they don't have original recordings from the real thing. At least from what I listened to on youtube just now.
It may sound similar, but not exactly the same. I haven't heard a single difference. Fans, generators, everything sounds exactly the same. Class 111 locomotives are still in use today in large numbers, including with private operators.
Well, we should be used to the whole sound thing by now, it's to be expected. At least it can't be as bad as the Skyhook BR187 on release, whatever happens.
