From what I recallMatt stopped work on the Oakville update to do his other pet project which was a new timetable for Clinchfield.

Oh I remember reading that but doesn't mean to say the project wasn't shifted back in house. We will see in just over a week!

And Matt said he hasn't work on Clinchfield in like 3 months so.....

Still think Peninsula Corridor is the route most likely for a rebuild, either a basic line revamp/extension or full on EMU changes.

Also Caltrain actually put the EMU's in revenue service today. Still not the full launch, but they are running now.

Even the US can’t escape the dreaded one handle onslaught… Ironing board seats as well?

And they insist on ringing that b….y bell at every opportunity ruining any chance to hear the traction noise!

I'd buy that. Well, maybe not for £40, but it'd be quite cool to prepare meals with the world going by.

On a different tack, I wonder if we are going to start seeing any official teasers for the content in the run up. Similar to TSW3 when were all puzzling over where a stretch of line in mountainous country with OLE and third rail could be.

they have also put up a rather funny commercial video for it - side by side comparison of old diesel consist and this new EMU running the same short section up to like first level crossing... the new EMU making it in like 26 seconds and the old consist around 1:30mins :D

Looks like we're not getting any official teasers in advance of the presentation, then. Unlike TSW3 which turned out to be the Training Centre.

which is good if you want to try a new loco or goof off, but actually has some bugs (like Free Roam) that prevent an accurate testing of some advanced features

Are you sure? All the TBA items on the July roadmap are in the 4-6 month category. Which makes November the earliest.

They could have put the TBA content in the 4-6 month period to reduce suspicions in some way, and once the content is actually announced, it'll move to the 0-4 month period..?

That’s only because they didn’t think about what category the yearly release would need to be in when deciding on the format of the roadmap. It’s more of a roadmap compromise than a hint to when the release date is. Dovetail Direct itself is in that category but we know it is much sooner.

Well it should move to the 0-4 months because it will be 3 months away in August for November.

I really do think it will be end of September ish. But one tging I've learned over the years is DTG are very inconsistant.

TSW 2 was a mid August release. Rush hour was spread out with the 3 routes early August to the beginning of October. TSW 3 beginning of September, TSW4 end of September.

So i could very well see it released end of October beginning of November. And that still would be par for the course for DTG.

What article said Sep 17th? I must of missed that.

Also don't forget they lost alot of Beta testers after the leak which may cause a delay in QC testing as they need to keep it all in house now.

Haven’t been very active on the forums lately because it’s been a very busy summer holiday for me, but I’m nonetheless still following all the news and very excited for Tuesday. Haven’t bought a TSW DLC in ages because I haven’t used my PlayStation all that much due to the summer heat, so my budget for new TSW stuff in the second half of the year is actually quite high. :D

Even if DTG/Steam use the official exchange rate ( currently €1 = $1.10 ), which they usually don't, it would be major league sticker shock for US fans. The Deluxe pack would be $132 no less.

Not sure I want to invest that much moola. Of course, that's assuming that the quoted prices are accurate.

If there is going to be a reworked route in there it wont be a UK one as we know what the UK one is (even thought we should not)
I am guessing the US route will be freight as we seem a little over due some freight so maybe the reworked oakville?
Matt did comment in one stream that one of the purposes of building the Glossop route was so they had Manchester piccadilly to use elsewhere so I would guess that might be one end of the UK route.
Have not a clue where the German route will be.
Am guessing if last year was anything to go by two of the pieces of new content will be locos, but have no idea what

No worries I can read German but can't speak it very well. I lived in Bonn for 3 years as my dad worked for the Canadian Embassy there in the late 80's. But since then no need to speak it so I've lost it. Same with French, as we don't speak it out west. But when I lived in Ottawa I used to speak French on a daily basis.

Ooh, Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe would be great - it would also use the new train that's been leaked (won't say just incase somehow someone hasn't heard), plus the already existing 323s and as another new train; the TfW WAG set! (Please add the WAG set - I beg you, DTG!!!)
I reckon it would make for a great route if it was to happen!!!

Pricey is right, thats why I held off on the 158 and Expert 101. I need to try and control my addiction a bit, i already own all DLC up to and including the 218.

And since summer has been here I've been spending more money and time on outdoor activities so the mad money is getting a little slim to come by than usual. I'm sure when winter comes back more money and time will go back to TSW.

Really wonder what is different between the Standard and Special editions to justify £30 extra? A lime green Vectron and a few coaches reskinned - I think not. Deluxe, well lying in bed last night before sleep came, only thing that occurred to me was maybe some sort of Season Pass. But then Pass for what? Everything including ATS, JT and any other associates output or just DTG content? Do you really want to mortgage £70 on what might or might not come to pass and what shape it might be in, or completion assurance.

No mention of regional starter packs or what if any discount will be available to existing owners or for pre ordering. 10% from each would make prices a little more palatable.

Obviously we must wait until tomorrow for confirmation but when you consider the new MSFS is probably going to be £60 with thousands of airports around the world and numerous aircraft big and small, this does not look good value. All I’ll say is for these price levels, a lot of people are going to feel let down if the WCML doesn’t go from Euston to New Street.

I dont know what lime green Vectron you talk about? Is it because of the ... you know? Pretty sure this was a placeholder, because i dont think they would release a new Tsw with only trains we already have.
I dont know why people think we would get flixtrain as it doesnt operate a certain route/network and so would be useless to get a licence for.
The Azuma is the second proof for the placeholder, because we already had a good hint which other new loco most likely is the UK core loco.(talking about the class 66 obviously, what did you think i was hinting on?)
Would be nice if you could stop comparing a flight sim by one of the biggest companys wirh a train sim by an in comparison smaller company.
Its like i want to build a blender, but then other people tell me, Apple released an IPhone and its way better quality and price. Then i think, why would i compare those things? The only thing they have in common is they are Electronic devices.
Like Tsw and MSFS have in common that they are both simulators and nothing else.

Yes the Vectron was in the leaked images and I was just spitballing an example if that was the only difference between Standard and Special, hardly worth £30 extra. As I said this is all speculation and we don’t know where the article got the prices from.

And comparison over value for money with a flight sim is perfectly valid. £60 for something that allows you to fly anywhere in the world with photogrammetry terrain, or £70 for a train sim with three 50 mile routes and a handful of new but still one handled modern trains. Again it’s all speculation, for all we know DTG might have worked some magic and the Special Edition will come with six new 100 mile plus routes, but I’m not holding my breath on that one.

They work on Köln - Aachen, but it could aslo be a new route to do with Berlin or Frankfurt.
