I have serious problems when I want to download TSC on Steam.
I have 250+ mb/s but TSC is hardly downloading anything.
With full speed it should take 2-3 hours max all my dlc+game but it sometimes download in less than 5 mb/s.
Is Dovetails servers so slow or what is going on?

Now I am downloading Cyberpunk 2077 and it is downloading 260 mb/s and before Smite downloaded 250+ mb/s.

Nothing to do with DTG, you are downloading from Steam servers. Try to switch to a different download location in the settings.

  3. You will need to clear Steam download cache. To do this, follow the instructions!

    1) Click on the Steam menu
    2) Choose Settings
    3) While in the Steam Settings, choose 'Downloads'.
    4) Click on the Clear Downloads Cache 'Clear Cashe' button
    5) Restart Steam

Note: You may, or may not be required to log into Steam. It's been awhile since I had the issue where games won't completely download.
I would also recommend checking for Steam updates, once you have cleared the cache and restarted Steam.

Sometimes pulling the plug from your router for a minute can also do magic.

  5. HAHAHA It does sound like a great idea! But I think his issue relates to a corrupted download. I've done it so many times, rage quit TSC and uninstalled it and then reinstalled the game without restarting Steam was the cause of TSC not downloading correctly for me. As soon as I cleared the download cache, restarted Steam and reinstalled TSC everything worked normally ;)

Yep, if corruption happens and Steam still has partial downloads in steamapps\downloading ot steamapps\temp, this can also lead to that effect.

In my experience, Steam will always try to use the full bandwidth available, and downloads are as fast as your connection allows.

One more thing is about your DLC.
Some DLC comes as a couple big pack files, but many others are supplied as a plethora of tiny, individual ones. Which is often slow.
    Plus virus scanning.

Yes, the .ap format improved download speeds and installation/file handling. A big file is always transferred faster over the network or the PC bus than thousands of small files.

It is looking like this the whole time when I am downloading TSC.

I downloaded The Elders Scroll Online yesterday and it downloaded 270 ms/s from start to finish so it took just over an hour.

But TSC is downloading like this which you see on the picture.
Have downloaded over an hour and it have just downloaded 20%.

  11. Do you have unlimited broadband? Or is it metered internet? If it's metered internet this could mean that you may have exceeded your monthly internet data

Advice, get Unlimited Broadband! And don't use a mobile phone connection..

    I found this on internet.

Sometimes, servers in a specific region may be slow, overloaded or have a hardware failure causing download issues. It is advisable to temporarily switch to a different download region to use another set of content servers.

I have even tried to change between servers but it is the same with TSC that I am losing download connection.

Some years ago it worked fine but now it is probelm to download TSC stuff.

So maybe DTG need to have a look into it why it is like this.

DTG have no input on the Steam Download Servers. Best to raise the issue with Valve. All DTG do is upload the items to Steam. As mentioned above, if the downloads have lots of small files then it will take longer to download than one big file despite total size being the same. I have no issues downloading TSC DLC, always runs at my ISPs download speed.

Just finished the download of 155 Gb.
    I have 250+ ms/s internet.
It took 9 hours to download it and that is not normal.
So probably DTG need to have a talk with Steam(Valve) about why it takes so long to download TSC stuff.

As I said some years ago the download worked fine with no interuptions the whole time as it is doing now.

  16. DTGs wouldn't have anything to do with your issue! Glad the game downloaded :)

WoodlandTracks why do you post comments and then choose to delete them sometimes after an hour

No, you need to talk to Steam. I had slow downloads 2 or 3 years ago with Train Simulator. I managed to eventually talk to someone on Steam about this and they gave me a whole lot of things to try to fix the issue but none of them worked and the last thing that they said to me sorry there is nothing that they can do about the issue but strangely a day or 2 later my speeds returned to normal. Go figure.
