I think it's worth reiterating that no one is suggesting random events would be forced on everyone for every drive. I personally can't stand the lightning and fog effects because I'm a weather nerd and I don't like how they behave, so I've switched them off. Guard mode, of no interest at all, no-one is forcing me to use it. That's how it is for a lot of features you can switch them off or ignore them, how you want to use your software is up to you, it's your game.

No-one here is suggesting that anyone will be forced to sit at a red signal for hours on end. I'd tend to empathise with those who travel a lot are sick to the back teeth with delays and wouldn't go near a feature that causes them in TSW.

With regard as to whether it would work, the last thing I want is DTG releasing a feature that doesn't work properly. If it's possible and it works well, great. If it's not possible, that's also fine. This is a speculation thread, a bit of fun on a miserable day. A few of us have speculated that it could be a new feature, it's not to be taken too seriously.

Agree with the above. It's basically something to spice up the robotic A to B runs without having scripted (and therefore predictable on a repeat play) scenario.

Would love to see London to Milton Keynes extended through to Birmingham. As well as new york to white plains extended further too.

My realistic, dream feature would be a scenery layers function, where a route could have forward or back dated scenery - much as a few of the PC mods offer, like those that backdate the Paddington route for use while running Diesel Legends.

This would allow different timetables and stock to be run on a route, without a completely new route being made.

It wouldn't be 100% accurate - track probably couldn't be changed, but being able to knock off the OLE at Paddington, or add modern station signage at Preston for example would add more fun to these routes and help sell timetable and stock expansion packs too.

I'd absolutely love that. There's probably a hundred reasons why it would be very difficult to implement but there's nothing wrong with what I believe modern manager types call "blue sky thinking". Purely thinking of my own local line, to have a choice between between (for example) driving to London using traction from any point between 1965 and 2025 would be an absolute dream.

Maybe years when I'm long gone from this planet it will be a feature of all routes in TSW 56.

We need more clutter, litter, birds, dead flies splatter on the windscreen, everything is too clean, more realistic weather, passengers talking on the train which can be heard in cab, proper station announcements, better passenger animations.

I'd love to see different variations of trains in terms of weathering. Like you'd have most units that are weathered and have at least 3 different variations of weathering so they all dont look exactly the same.

Yes, I agree about the clutter and cleanliness and that is why we need a real route editor similar to TSC and Trainz22!
