This might seem like a small thing to some people but its kinda mind blowing that 4 months after TSW4 releases we still only see 801 234 on all Class 801s.
Dtg explained it's a core bug and changing something related to the core can have unintended consequences. It could be taking a while if it's just 1 developer working on it. Either it turned into a much bigger issue than they thought it would or they aren't actively working on it.
So, you're defending them for getting it wrong in the first place. Can't be a big issue as other trains do not have duplicate numbers.
Pretty much sums up TSW. If it's broken on release, it's pretty much going to stay that way for years, if not forever. They aren't actively working on it. Like the majority of TSW4 route bugs, and TSW3 bugs, and TSW2 bugs.
Except sometimes fixes are super quick, like within days/week of release. Seeing multiple DLCs release for this game it seems like after each release there is a "window" where if people are loud enough about an issue or it is glaring enough, it gets fixed right away. If a fix misses that immediate post release window, it seems to take months/years for them to come back to them (if ever).
Well they haven't fixed a single one of the glaring issues for the TSW4 routes. Maintalbahn is an absolute dumpster fire as well.
Agreed, bit of a tedious workaround that you have to turn it off every time you dare to leave the cab! I've also just accepted the fact that the "801234" bug is here to stay tbh.
The ammount of bugs for the Class 801 unfixed is actually depressing, considering it's been over 4 months and none of them have been fixed. Vigilance Alarm going off even in neutral. 801234 Numbering on every loco. Cable connectors between the coaches aren't connected, so clip every time you go through a corner. Windscreen Wiper starts on the wrong side of the screen. Front Pantograph is up rather than the rear one. Stopping points are always wrong on the TMS screen/side of the train. They are always one ahead of where they should be. These are just the ones off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more. This isn't even talking about any route specific bugs.
Just to add to 3 - gangways don’t seem to be connected to the vehicles themselves either. I.e. as you go round a corner, the gangway doesn’t flex so you can kind of see outside from inside the gangway or inside from outside the train against one of the coaches. If anyone knows what I’m on about and is able to explain it more coherently so DTG can get it fixed, that’d be great
Service 5J70 for Class 700 has an error in the form of the wrong track on the Spital side tracks as there are 2 trains on one track and the following services 5J72, 5J74 and 5J76 for Class 700 cannot be operated due to a busy switch. Also in the schedule, services 5J72, 5J74 and 5J76 are repeated twice and these services, which are at the end of the list of services, are unplayable. And there are also not enough services to the Nen side tracks.
I wish there was a bit more ambition to build more of this route. It gets boring quite quickly going between the same destinations. Building the southern section from Peterborough to London would be great, with the chance to get to use the class 700 and class 387. If there is more ECML in the pipeline, please don't repeat the mistakes of TSC and have different addons that a third party developer has to kindly stitch together with a ton of requirements.
Did anyone catch British Aces' stream on the 10th Feb, East Coast mainline? It got a bit embarrassing for DTG at times. BA kept complaining at text kept going low res so he couldn't read it. Not only dials in the cab but posters on platforms which became unreadable. He said something about wrong numbers and then he went or a walk down the inside of the train at the end of the video and all the passengers had turned to shadows, black cut outs all sat down in the train, looked sinister but mostly bloody annoying.
When are we going to get a fix for every 801 number being 12345? It can't be a core issue because the vast majority of the rolling stock in the game doesn't have this issue.
Huh, you're actually right. Unfortunately, the other stock with the issue like the NTP Mk2s has not been fixed...
Hopefully they fix that too. Not sure when it got patched with LNER - wonder maybe in the recent core update, but didn't see it specified in the list. Maybe DTG don't know they fixed it, because I would think it was one worth highlighting!
Anyone else getting the "being dumped at random stations" bug when choosing some of the Flying Scotsman services? I've also been having issues spawning some of the Scotsman's formations since the winter core update the other day. I'm playing on PC - Steam.
I thought this issue was resolved ages ago. It originally appeared on SEHS and has already been fixed once.
Yeah it originally started on SEHS, now it's appearing on ECML. I've only noticed it since the formation designer beta came out. It could have been there much longer. Something else to add to the ever growing list of bugs with this game series!
ECML is giving me a UE crash when I try to start it. I get all the way to selecting the train, 800 (both of them) and timetable service and hit start and it thinks for a few seconds and crashes to the desktop. I have verified files and it found 2 which it reloaded; this was from getting 2 items today on the sale. Also, other routes I have checked load fine, so it's only ECML so far. It ran fine several days ago, before the update. To eliminate my Rail Driver, unplugged it, made no difference. Also, tried the 66 with same results. Know someone will ask about mods, don't think I have any loaded for ECML. Ticket has been submitted. Add: I ran the E - G Scottish route and the display screen in the 385 is not working. Starting to wonder if my install of TSW4 is trashed for some reason. Do I need a total uninstall and re install of the whole thing. My install is messed up. Went into Cross City and the front windows of the 323 are crazed and you can't see anything. The issue is mod related, will have to determine which one it is.
Frosted windows is the cabview mod by Spike updated version is here TSW4 CabCam Improvements All-in-One v1.35 - Train Sim Community You need to update the signal visuals mod, that's what is causing the crash, the newest version is 2.2 here Train Sim World 4 - Improved signal visuals - Train Sim Community
BeastyBill 88, thanks for these links. Will install them along with the newest scenery file for LBM, which I have already checked.
. I had a similar issue today. I fixed it by updating a couple of mods. The one that caused the crash for me seems to be version 2.1 of Improved Signal Visuals. I upgraded to version 2.2: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...894-train-sim-world-4-improved-signal-visuals I don't thinks it's related to the crash, but I updated Jetwash's Lighting & Graphic Enhancement mod to version 4.1.1 ECML is now working again for me.
Having a drive on the ECML just now from Posh to Donny. I thought they were supposed to be fixing the level crossing timings which are causing the spurious double yellow aspects, followed by a green at the next signal. As IRL, you can't really ignore these just in case but it becomes a bit of a PITA keep interrupting your smooth cruise down (or up) the line.
East coast mainline is a good route but it needs variety such as The Mallard The Deltics Class 91 Class 225 Hull Trains Lumo Grand Central I think that havening these on the route would make the route feel busier, plus an expansion to lincoln as LNER's stop there and its a big popular station.
1) Mallard doesn't run anymore. Its only static at the National Railway Museum. 2) These could have been an additional railtour alongside Flying Scotsman (a new UK loco coming, could the Deltic be it?) 3) Class 91 (also known as InterCity 225) has been highly requested, no idea why it isn't there yet (although a new UK loco coming, could this be it? 4) See 3. They are the same thing. 5) No license and likely not able to obtain one. 6) Pointless as would be AI only (maybe if Newcastle to Edinburgh came). Licensing also an issue. 7) Pointless as would be AI only. Not worth creating a whole new train for. Licensing also an issue. Also, why Lincoln? Surely York is a better end point.
Funnily enough, I was on a train from King's Cross to Lincoln yesterday and was thinking just that. The contrast between the main line and the Lincoln line, part of which still has semaphore signals and old-fashioned crossing gates, is quite marked. Plus you get the power changeover at Newark. It's not going to happen, and I'm not suggesting it should, but as a fantasy extension it's quite compelling.
Hi, I've been waiting for a few months now for some of the issues with the East Coast Mainline to be fixed, but most of the worst issues I have with it still make it unusable for me. Just onto the Azuma trains and trying to walk down the length of car, you can't. As I try to walk, my feet go through the floor, then my head the ceiling or goes through the roof, or the train crosses a bridge and I find myself standing on the track as the train just kept going and left me standing on a bridge that has an invisible wall and trapped me and ripped me from the train. Sometimes I can get from one end to the other in the Azuma as a driver, but if I try the Flying Scotsman, half the time, at the same bridges, I get yanked from the cab, just like when I try to ride as a passenger on the Azumas. The other routes are really good, but this is impossible to complete, half the time. How could possibly have realeased this without even a minimum of beta testing? I've had TSW4 since it's prerelease and while I love the other routes and the addons, updates and upgrades are wonderful, a year later, I'm still wondering if the East Coast Mainline is abandonware. I've posted detailed screenshots, depicting the problem spots and where they are. Those posts are earlier in this thread. I just picked up the West Somerset Railway this week and it's beautiful! Thank you!
randyc, don't know if it makes a difference, but what platform you running. I am on pc and have never experienced this, though, I find the fun in driving so rarely leave the cab.
A bit like going down from Swindon to Gloucester via the Stroud Valley; no jointed track anymore but relatively slow, curved and hilly, beyond Kemble anyway.
Just after Newark crossing one aws ramp doesn't make the sound in cab when passing over it..additionally, the map has a tendency sometimes to keep zooming in of its own accord. Playing on ps5.
For the map thing, if you notice it automatically zooming in, press the button you'd normally use for this and it should resolve it.
The AWS ramp at the end of the tunnel 4.2 miles away from Grantham doesn't sound a warning or ping in train cabs when travelling northbound.
What’s the reasoning for low res text in the cab of the 801? Absolutely awful experience after not playing it for a long time.
Save performance on last Gen consoles with have lower resolution by default and can get worse from time to time
No Safety Systems, So why is it Beeping and Shouting at me? & Need More Freight Locos. As a freight driver it is annoying to do Scenarios for over an hour with all safety systems active(AWS/TPWS, DSD & Vigilance) to then get a gold medal and apparently I didn’t have the safety systems active, as it displays N/A where my Platinum earning points should be this is also the case with the 801 Azuma as well but atleast you can score a platinum medal without the safety systems. This is a really annoying Bug that’s ruining the enjoyment of the route because it’s pointless playing timetables that I need to do again, Hopefully the next update will rectify this and I can get back to enjoying the route. Also would be great to have some more Freight Locos The Class 66 is well over used by now. And a Class 69 or a DRS 88 may be a great Addition with the modern route. Also The 67 or 57 is a common sight around the line for rescue duties with one of the 67’s being stabled at DONCASTER and this would be good to put route learning in to the timetables on this route and others as this is how drivers learn the route. Other wise I don’t mind the route Not very Difficult but the modern routes are designed to be safe and easy so it is to be expected.
2/26/2024 This bridge, the third bridge north of Grantham STILL HAS NOT been fixed. You can't walk across it going north. You can't walk across it going south. If you are riding the train and are sitting in a passenger seat, or walking through the train, when it gets to this bridge, you are left standing right here because the train and cross the bridge, but you, even when you're in the train, will be left standing right here. The only way you can cross this bridge is if you are sitting in the engineers seat of a locomotive. I would really appreciate it if SOMEONE would pay attention to this.
The Class 66 is so problematic it won’t allow you to score points for the safety systems being on. I turn DSD and AWS/TPWS On and if I set the cab up like that it usually tells me I can earn extra points by turning them on so after turning them on and off again it doesn’t remind me again but it Scores 0 for safety systems so why have a scoring system that doesn’t gain extra points I’d be platinum all the way if I got awarded extra AP for these. Also signal priority is flawed as I stopped an AZUMA for me to join the Mainline
Class 66 services no longer awarding points for having safety systems turned on. Driver assist message telling you to turn them on when they have already been enabled. Enabled using Shift+Enter and Ctrl+Enter, also enabled using the fuse cabinet, in both cases not getting the extra points. Services tried 6E82 and 3J42. Playing on PC Steam
Would love some tutorials on aws systems for beginners and British signalling.. additionally, it's a shame the guard buzzer tones don't sound in cab. Additionally, can you fix the TMS displays in the cab..they display incorrect next station info. Apart from that really great all round..one of my favourites!
