Can someone on PS5 please share a picture of a close up on the SPAD brake demand/release panel in the azuma cab after yesterday’s update please? Wondering whether to upgrade to PS5, and blurry in cab textures would be deal breaker.
Not sure if this has been reported (long thread), but I often see "phantom" trains in front of me on the HUD (G-YY-Y-R) for which I start slowing the train, only to find that the spectral train ahead just disappears and it's suddenly all green (G-G-G). It's as if the train exists only for a few minutes then just disappears into thin air, which is unnatural and rather kills the immersion. Has anyone else witnessed this behaviour? FYI I was running 1B82 today but have seen it multiple times heading north.
That's normal. There are a lot of level crossings on the ECML, if the barriers aren't down the signals will show the usual sequence for stopping. It's to prepare the train to stop in case the barriers don't close.
I don't know if it's just me, it might just be something I need to pretend has happened, but I don't lose power when stated during the scenario "In Threes". I can happily continue on electric power without switching to diesel, but it does just lock out the subsequent objectives.
Please fix the speed limiter not being set to 124mph (https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/a-question-about-class-800s-801s-802s.191814/)
I searched the forums, but could not find the following in any thread. Route 1B91 on ECML has a 20-ish minute wait at the start. This leaves you sitting in the train after you have gotten everything ready and the passengers loaded. Is this intentional or an error?
Yesterday ran a most enjoyable service, 1A20, an 801/2 run from Donny to Peterbourgh. In one of the double track sections, I was getting yellows that slowed me down to under 60 mph for a while. When the track structure opened up to 4 tracks, I began to clear up and, in a short while, overtook a train on the up slow. It was the Flying Scotsman with its train of maroon coaches. With this I was still into Peterbourgh only a minute late.
DTG-Chris Xbox One Bug: Ecml Crashing On All Timetable Services Starting From Doncaster When I load into any timetable service that starts from Doncaster and start loading passengers, everything seems okay. However, when I depart the station, the game will freeze at certain points and then crash. It also crashes just after passing Doncaster freight yard in the down direction and before the over-bridge tunnel. This is on Xbox One (gen 8). Please fix it DTG.
Is it just darker on 1A52 - I.e. have you tried other services on ECML at a similar time of day with same weather and date etc. and they are brighter?
I have but only really picked the route up again today so this is an isolated case but will investigate further.
It's one of my favourite routes. Can't exactly pinpoint why but it feels relaxing and always calms me when I play it.
It just looks much better really. Don't know if it's just me but like i said will be investigating such a matter more!
Now we just need a couple of run down Class 47s and a Class 08 - they're in Doncaster yard in real life.
There were 47s in the yard when I was at DON in game yesterday. I don't have an 08 so can't see if it layers in.
Couple of things I've noticed since the last update. 1:- AI 801/2 units are running using the rear panto as is prototypical but all units I've been in are still using the forward one! 2:- In the In Threes scenario when you switch to the rear panto as is prototypical the panto down button DOESN'T work on that panto (which it would on a real unit) 3:- why is it on the Jubilee we have a proper head out position on the drivers side of the footplate but on the Scotsman that position is so far out of the cab window we're almost having our head smashed of all the OHLE posts and signals?
Haven't played the new update yet, but didn't see this in the changelog - 801 door sounds. I can't be the only one who thinks they are ridiculously quiet.
Most of the game 801 sounds are very quiet tbh. I don’t know about simugraph but would’ve thought they could just turn them all up
Well, as been discussed before, the cabs of the 800s are well insulated and you really don't hear much. I have watched cab ride videos of these trains and its close to actual.
They may be prototypical - but personally I'd rather they were louder. In the meantime, I just play with my TV on 70% volume but 15% on other routes
Class 801 cab sounds definitely need a buff, even if not 100% prototypical. Sadly seems beyond DTG’s moxie to arrange. If you are at the end with manual sliding doors behind the cab you can run with these and the internal door open, helps a bit but not much.
Will the azuma be getting suspension improvements. I say this a lot also lol but wish the buzzer sounds were incorporated
This game really shines I feel after dark I feel. And particularly this route. Have they improved anything. Looks a lot sharper. Maybe it's because it's on a 4k tv lol
Also what does the flashing green mean. Once again want to say I love this route a lot. It's so cozy maybe due to fact the traction sounds etc and external sounds feel isolated
Flashing green is clearance to 140mph, but this system was never approved due to safety concerns that drivers wouldn’t be able to read the signs at that speed. That’s something they think ERTMS (in cab signalling, currently being tested on a section of the southern ECML) will enable
Found this glitch I hope. Playing on ps5. Just outside pbo. Forgot what service. Also, these signs I believe denote lower pantograph. Does the arrow indicate the direction it applies to?
It's the same on Birmingham Cross City, you can't do the Longbridge ECS moves either for some reason.
Level crossing turned into an AHB outside of Doncaster. Driving side barrier works as normal but the offside doesn't work at all.
It is the first one your referring to isn't it as it is meant to be the 1st service. Quite lazy In my opinion.
Shouldn't happen. Should only be a bell, not an alarm (unless you've passed a speed board maybe, just before the signal)
you're probably hitting the AWS magnet when the signal is at amber but it's changing to green before you notice it
I should have said its definitely not at amber at all..I carefully look at it. Next time I will try to record it.
Do you get to a speed reduction closely after the AWS goes off? If so, it is a speed board warning. They also have AWS magnets if the reduction is over a certain amount.
I will have to replay the services or investigate further to see but I don't think there's any speed board.
I have had this too, see this thread re GWE https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/gwe-green-triggered-aws.82008/, but I think I've also had it on ECML. I didn't note the signal numbers or signalling IDs though, don't believe there was a speed board.
Just a quick one. I am currently playing service 1D26. The stop sign at Newark is at end of platform and indicates all class 800 units should stop at the end yet the game instructs you to stop half way or so down the platform. Why is this. Surely it's incorrect or something missing? If it is instructing you to (the stop board) surely you should comply with such instructions instead? Tried looking for a stop sign even around where the game insisted I stopped and no luck. Unless there's some explanation for this I am confused. And even if I am 5 cars surely I would still be at end of platform.
