My very early initial feedback: Introduction voice volume very low. Hard to hear over the ambient sound. Introduction has the Azuma running on diesel (or at least that’s what it sounds like). In 801 training module, the power handle was already applied to level 1. Unable to turn track monitor off on PS5. AI trains have headlights and taillights showing at the same time. AWS alarm/ping almost silent. Appears AWS is turned ON by default in the 801.
Very disappointed with the Peterborough modelling. Spital sidings is all wrong including the buildings behind the sidings for the shops. Shame as you could do a scenario taking 700s in and out. Walking route to the Nene sidings. You have made half of it but not the rest of it even though the signs are there which makes even less sense. Why start and not finish it. Wont go into the 800 as been covered a lot before.
Service 1D01 there is bug with 801 tms this service is all stations one however on leaving Peterborough Grantham is missing says next station Newark on screen and before you even get to Newark it’s displaying next station Retford and before arriving Retford displaying Doncaster then so long departing for Doncaster it totally disappears off tms display this next stop feature helpful if it was 100% accurate and not bugged as a result the information at top of tms with arrows between stations is also incorrect
Driving with the new minimal HUD - loving it! Stations and scenery along the route are really good - Doncaster especially looks absolutely excellent Biggest win for me is the much improved draw distance - looks really good IMHO. Cab experience in the 801 feels much more alive - bouncier, for want of a better word Think there may be an issue with the unit numbers... I'm currently driving along in 801 234... pretty sure there's only 30 of the 801/2s though? One final thought - the lighting is much improved over TSW3. Compare "There And Back Again" (Nahverkhehr Dresden) - it's much less oppressive. Loving it!
Team will be reviewing the feedback on levels over the coming days. We have heard the feedback on Azuma general sounds though.
Service 1D01 tms bugged calls only Newark and Grantham as soon as you leave displays next station Grantham totally missing Newark off the tms
Hud bug when loading into ecml set hud to the nice new shiny one however it appears not to save and when exit and return to tsw4 HUD has defaulted to the tsw3 hud
Just to sum up a few on my platform, which is the Xbox Series X AWS on Scotsman doesn’t function properly, indicator on HUD isn’t attached and the alerter button doesnt let you acknowledge alerts from yellows or reds. Sunflower also doesnt disappear once passing over green magnets like it does on the 801 etc. Sounds across all three included British trains need to be upped, emphasis on safety systems like AWS or DSD on Scotsman and the 801s, traction motor sounds for the 801 as well, also 66 safety’s apparently. 8 miles from Peterborough on the fast is a signal that is always at double yellow, picky but still unhelpful at 125 mph 801s leaving stations in diesel mode 801s TMS Screen consistently gets the next stop location wrong, for example I had one service which had the next stop as Grantham in my timetable, screen showed Newark Did the 1Z87 with the flying Scotsman, encountered 1Z39 in front of me which is another Scotsman railtour that left earlier, assuming that it relates to the seasons the tours operate in will post more as they come, platform is Xbox Series X, have clips for the majority of these if anyone needs proof or reference of bugs to fix
I've found the azumas diesel engines ain't loud enough and everytime you switch from one 801 to another the AI makes the train sound diesel even tho it's on electric, sounds just need some work other than that it's a decent game
Unless Im doing something wrong passing through neutral sections doesn't actually isolate the train. The linenlight doesn't turn off and on and you can't hear any audio changes in the train. They aren't just for aesthetic purposes are they?
Everybody talking about the quiet AWS on Flying Scotsman — mine was zero for ages because I couldn't work out how to enable it. But then of course, the isolator is behind the fireman's (or firewoman's) leg. Of course! So obvious. I know it's an accurate model but if the fireman (or firewoman) is just going to sit there rather than do anything useful, how are you supposed to naturally find the AWS isolator or the cylinder cocks? Maybe I should just wait for the manual... Speaking of which, does anybody know what the various controls in "Steam Shift" mode are on an Xbox controller? It's not in the control layout section of the settings and I can't find a list anywhere. Is this just a case of "try everything and hope you get lucky"?
Interesting thanks for pointing this out not heard of this steam shift mode if I find any information I’ll let you know
They work in that you need to close the MCB afterwards but apparently they are not integrated with the icons in the HUD or sound-wise.
I would mention the noise but already been done loads but what I've encountered is the class 801's cab light is turned on as soon you you start a service and the window wiper goes off as in
why does nobody want to get on my trains. ive done 3 ECML services at peak times in the rush hour and not one person got on my trains and that stopping at other stations as well. well done to the testers. im on PS 5. also i see train coming in the opposite direction with red headlights on with white.
I dont know if this has been mentioned or what but I've tried to download some skins from the online sharing hub for the class 801 and it wont let me theirs no button for downloading it just pops up with a required content warning even though I have the content. I don't know if this is only for the class 801 or all but I've only tried the 801
Ironically you can move with the sliding passenger doors open! I opened one by mistake and fell out North of Grantham! I hope AWS kicked in!
Oh right I didn’t know this thanks for heads up also on 801 keep you eye on tms screen it’s got habit of displaying wrong next stop and even missing stops out I’ve reported tms bug in feedback forum thanks for your reply
People crossing the track to board train on other side! 20230921231627_1 by BlackSkyuk posted Sep 22, 2023 at 2:05 PM This signal being red, but the display top right shows it as green. 20230922000041_1 by BlackSkyuk posted Sep 22, 2023 at 2:05 PM
I noticed comparing the Xbox and PS5 version that the bugged unit numbers (all units being 801 234) seems to effect the Xbox but not the PS5.
Playing the "Job Centre" on ECML - get about halfway through - after setting the points to despatch the trains - then you get back on board to do some shunting.... I've hit a bug - the drivers key is in the wrong end - and you can't remove it... I've tried resetting the physics (which lets you set the loco up from scratch) - but I then can't get brake release.... Same in both cabs...
ECML run in progress, route looks nice. That double yellow signal on the Up between Newark and Grantham definitely needs to be sorted. And I absolutely love the homage to the "Stray" game, advertising the movie "Lost" about a cat's journey home. That warmed my cynical old heart. Some of the other station adverts had me chuckling too. Take time to check them out! Anyhow time to close the doors and push on to Peterborough.
I tried everything to get the xbox version to run on my pc. Ran it as an administrator, disabled anti virus to no success. Eventually redownloaded everything and it has finally opened. Yeah, now to get in the cab of the scotsman and drive it.
On a more serious note, found the route to be stuttering quite badly (potato PC) in the country between Grantham and Peterborough including an outright pause of 4 or 5 seconds. Might be caching, will have to see how it is on a second run. However AVL yesterday evening in downtown LA was smooth as Lurpak butter. Also is it me or does the OHLE wiring look a bit clunky and slightly too thick? Oh and a plus for the Azuma, physics seem better than the TSC version, on a slightly rising grade in Notch 1 speed was declining slightly, unlike its sister sim version which just kept on accelerating.
AWS sounds in Azuma cab is very quiet. My train cut out a couple of times because I couldn’t hear it lol. Glad it’s been recognised by JD and the team.
Part 2 of bugs Multiple trains sighted with tail lights and day running lights on No passengers on services, like in the carriages Another signal on double yellow, 3/4 miles south on Doncaster on the down fast https://1drv.ms/f/s!AkEksw4h4PYBg28LSvwn-JQroVUX?e=Vh6zl6 Should be a link to some stuff, gives ideas to what I mean and where
PS5 - The gangways in-between carriages do not move with the curves so you can see the glass doors between carriages as the train bends. The PIS scrolling the destination on the side the carriage scrolls under the coach letter, the font doesn't look right but I haven't been on an 801 to clarify. Some coaches (coach B only one I have seen so far on a 9 car) has the PIS backwards. I think sounds inside of the cab (hearing the train accelerate) is right as the motor powered bogies in a 5 car are the 2nd/3rd/4th cars and 9 car are 2nd/3rd/5th/7th/8th cars
Xbox- There is a big invisible barrier that the exterior P.I.S text disappears behind and only leaves you with the end of words or only full words when scrolling.
I've been playing on Xbox One X. The cab detail in the Azuma is so low that I can't read any text labels in the cab but everything in the passenger areas is higher detail? Like the fire exit sign is very blurry in the cab but not the one in the passenger area.
Hah! I've not played it yet! There ARE cows right next to the big green bridge on the Northern line coming out of Newark, just after the flat crossing! I'll have a word with Billy Barker the farmer and tell him to be more careful
Will it be possible if we could see update on the PS5 for 1.007 to be 1.002 the write version out soon or on the "official" release date.
First look at TSW4 seems good, I driven from Peterborough to Doncaster and noticed a few things about the Azuma: The HUD speed dial only goes up to 100mph, so when the speed limit is > 100 the speed limit dot can't show the actual limit The AWS is VERY quiet, it's very easy to miss an alert I didn't notice the neutral sections doing anything, I would expect some sort of noise, indication that we'd lost power The Desk Illumination doesn't seem to do anything.
Just to give some feedback. I think the game is absolutely beautiful. A lot more colour, graphically much sharper, better. It kind of reminds me of how I thought TSW3 looked on release, before DTG made sone changes that impacted how it looked, how it ran! With TSW3, the draw distances for shadows, details, and also texture loading seemed to get changed at some point so that things popped in at the last moment MUCH more than in earlier versions of the game. I really hope that isn't going to happen again with TSW4! Despite all of the bugs that have gotten past the testers and in to this pre-release version, and despite significant landmarks being missing from the game , my initial impressions are fairly positive. You should all be really proud of what you have built as a team at DTG. The models are beautiful, the sounds - particularly in the American route - are fantastic, even though ECML needs the audio mastering!!! I really, REALLY hope that Dovetail can get a lot of these bugs patched really early this time. The game has potential to be an absolute masterpiece. I really want that to be the case. I don't want it to be just another unfinished, bug riddled Dovetail "cash grab" (other players words, not mine!). Reading around some of the groups I am in, some of the more negative players were saying theze things as soon as it was announced!!! I really would love DTG to prove these haters wrong and shove those kind of words where the sun doesn't shine!!! Big Love DTG! Thanks for all of the hard work put in by everyone associated with the team. You guys and gals have clearly put in some serious graft to give us these long routes, packed with action, beautiful modelling of rolling stock and locos, massively upgraded little people, the coffee shops, the engineers out on the route engaged in passionate conversations with their co-workers! The stations look GOOD, the countryside looks fantastic! Night time lighting looks fantastic from the short amount I've played!!! There is definitely a lot of good stuff that I just haven't seen yet, either, and it's exciting knowing I've got all of that to come the more I play! Good luck for all of the hard work ahead, as you polish this game and iron out the glitches !!! ❤️✌️
Yep - the cab’s set up correctly. No issue on any of the other routes; as in the other post, only the EMCL scenarios seem to have the new scoring.
I know the answer prov but has 801226 and 228 been down in there special liverys as century and pride
DTG Alex I have an issue where all 801/2 and also 801/1 numbers are "801234". Edit: Can't put images.
Exact same problem/issues as everyone else. il just add that the mastery items are STILL broken (i know most people dont care for these or find them pointless) but Tier 1 ECML unlocked fined but Tier 2 is stuck at 1/2 scenarios and 204/96000km. all i want is to see the damn jets fly over. how are mastery levels still broken after 3 games
