To be honest, I am actually looking forward to this.. I just hope we get a few timetabled services, because so far only scenarios have been mentioned. Either way, I'll probably still buy it, love a good diesel, especially on an electric route!
As I have read, 47484 is a very special Class 47, it has two completely different cabs. Does anyone know the history of this Class 47? I've seen pictures where it was in a pretty bad shape. I'm definitely looking forward to this unusual Class 47.
Those are interesting but sad photos. 47484 was one of four BR Western Region based class 47's to be repainted in GWR Brunswick Green to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the GWR in 1985, The others were 47500 Great Western, 47628 Sir Daniel Gooch (since scrapped) and 47079 GJ Churchward (now a class 57). The others lost their liveries at various periods but this one I believe retained the green livery, judging by those photos that would be correct. One class 50 was also painted and two DMU's were painted in chocolate and cream as were several mark 1 carriages used for railtours that year. I think 47484 was withdrawn in the mid 90's and later preserved. I hadn't realised it had got into such poor condition.
Very random question that has nothing to do with this thread but how come your profile description has 'The eastern region of BR is begging to be represented in TSW5' then its crossed out and followed up with 'thanks DTG' as if they are making it. Does this mean the Eastern Region is coming to TSW5?
It were something I really wanted to see in TSW, and DTG delivered a with route from the Eastern Region of BR so I have thanked them for it. Not only did they deliver a route in the Eastern Region, but the section of route I wanted to see most as well! Nowt else planned for the eastern region as far as I am aware.
I have very tiny hopes they boost the power on the 801 just a bit so it doesn't outright die uphills.
Afraid you'll have to spell it out slightly clearer mate, I think I know what you are saying, but don't want to say it in case you aren't saying what I think you're saying.
You are saying what I think you are saying then, sorry should have worded it slightly better to not make it a like a trap though mate.
This is an actual Eastern Region route! I know what you mean though as there is still plenty of room in East Anglia to cover now the most important part of the Eastern Region has been covered!
I just took a dive down it, and I can honestly say I couldn't have predicted that. Jeezo! Hopefully more more details of the upcoming content will be discussed in the upcoming road map on the 8th.
Normally I avoid contributing to content wishlist threads but this time I feel I must join in. As a kid I discovered engineering nirvana in the brutally beautiful Class 55 Deltic so would love it in TSW. It would of course be at home on ECML though the overhead electric lines would be a bit grating. Drifting away from historical accuracy, other smooth running routes for the Deltic could include Edinburgh to Glasgow (again pity about the OHLE). Midland main line, East Coastway and even Victoria to Brighton could also host this beloved loco in a fantasy railtour thrash! Also GWE providing the much vaunted forthcoming rework does not wreck route run performance from what is currently a blissful fast and smooth.
