    ECML South: London - Peterborough

The journey from London - Peterborough is about 72 miles (115 kilometres) and calls at London Kings Cross, Finsbury Park, Harringay, Hornsey, Alexandra Palace, New Southgate, Oakleigh Park, New Barnet, Hadley Wood, Potters Bar, Brookmans Park, Welham Green, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn North, Knebworth, Stevenage, Hitchin, Arlesey, Biggleswade, Sandy, St Neots, Huntingdon and Peterborough.
The current rolling stock used today is the Class 802’s and Class 91’s operating for LNER, and Thameslink Class 700’s and Great Northern 387’s/365’s services operating commuter services on the route. A989078E-4276-4193-B2D2-CAC19093F3EB.jpeg

I always thought this route is a bit on the long side but I think if DTG were feeling ambitious it could be done. The Class 387 and 801 could be featured as standard, with potentially a DLC later on featuring the older Class 91 and 365 substituting in. "East Coast Electrics" would be a good name.

Excellent idea and if you are wondering the Tom Connell art for the route will be one of his Class 800 or 801s. If you own BML you can do a class 387/2 depot run out of Hornsey.

TBH I think that two trains as standard on a route like this isnt enough. I would include class 91, 800/801, 387, and 365 as standard, with 717 as DLC.

We normally get two trains per UK route, one new and one reused. I would like to see more included by default but I don't think it is likely, especially if in this case it involves modelling two new trains from scratch (91 & 800/801).

Also there's the problem of whether to include the Welwyn G.C. stoppers from Moorgate if that branch isn't included.

I think that the base game should include 800/801, 700s and 717s. The 387s and 365s probably wouldn't be included, as off-peak they run non-stop from King's Cross to Cambridge, not stopping anywhere along this route. I think the Moorgate branch should also be included in this route.

It depends when the route is set. If set between 2018 and 2019 then there's a wider scope of operations; Class 387/1's operating more stopping services to Peterborough/Cambridge & King's Lynn, Class 313s and 365s still operating, Class 700 and 717 then newly introduced, and use of LNER HSTs with more Class 91/Intercity 225 services.

I would love an electric British mainline (ECML or WCML), but especially this one because of the Class 91. Really hope the longer route length won't stand in the way of this route getting developed, because Londen-Perterborough makes sense from an operational standpoint.

    I have noticed that pattern:

Southeastern High Speed reused the 377 in the form of the 375, and had the 395 new, then partly reused the 166 with the 465 DLC. BML reused the 377 (albeit with some upgrades) and had the 387 "new". The 313 DLC for ECW partly reused the 314 from Cathcart and so on.

I would love the entirety of this route perhaps including Werrington sidings and perhaps a branch. I’m greedy. Yes it’s 70 miles but Clinchfield may be similar length (granted trees more than anything).

I’d love to see all the above trains, it’s my local route so I’m bias but the run a lot of freight on it too. They have the whole route on TS. And the biggest let down with route is TS , really needs a Brighton quality port over. I’d pay up to £35 for a good rendition of this

well said and if made TS22 scenarios will be ported over including the 801 at 8:01. Here's Matt playing the route and 20 min in the Class 801 TS 22 London Kings Cross to Peterborough he doesn't stop at Knebworth Trip time is 54 minutes to cover 76 mi 122 km.

The fun fact everyone will do a Knebworth if ECML South arrives for TSW 2 with Tom Connell art of LNER Class 801/800
