Did someone mention Edinburgh Trams? Yes the Variobahn Bybanen tram has indeed been given a little bit of TLC by myself with some editing on Blender. With a mostly semi-fictional livery since these particular types of trams aren't actually used in Edinburgh so I've had to take some creative liberties with how it looks. Some extra detailing includes orange indicators, EDB Tram Logos & some Dot Matrix display textures for the front and sides. I've also added a cheeky little figure in the front driving cab if you can work out who it is I've had a lot of fun doing this one despite the UVs being an utter mess!
Hi all so this is just a quick thread. Remember how ridiculously tall the so called "Master Key" was in the 385 cab? Yeah I also thought it looked awful so I took on the challenge of getting it replaced with a correct to scale one from the Class 377 cab. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect as I'm basically working with Vertex Groups but to my surprise merging the meshes together didn't break anything at all and the animation node worked perfectly in UE4 Now you no longer need to look at a ridiculously tall key everytime you unlock a cab in the 385 Blender Edit: UE4 editor test: Final render in TSW: Ignore the rather dark looking key I forgot to adjust the UVs lol Edit: Here's a quick before & after of the Master Keys, I'm not kidding by how tall it is.
Holy hell. And this without an official editor. I am sure by the time they start working on an official tool, the community and it's skilled members like you will have a whole route working by then.
LM and Spratty, the work you’re both putting in is incredible. I bought the route, but am not planning on really playing it until I have your mod downloaded!
This all looks fantastic! I'm very much looking forward to this. If you don't mind me giving a small suggestion with the key though. The edges look quite sharp compared to the original, Beveling the edges would look a lot better however looking at the geometry and what you had to do it may or may not be possible.
Either way it looks miles better than stock, that's for sure. And very impressive that your doing all this with free tools. Blender really is a very powerful tool.
Thank you! Unfortunately Beveling can't be done as it causes the mesh to go completely haywire. I'd have to redo it from scratch again and I just don't think it's really worth it.
Londonmidland sorry to ask do you know when you will release your mod for Edinburgh to Glasgow route. Many thanks
will u add the brown and rusty rails i know ROB S has done this but would like to see it in this pack so we dont need more files
I’m not aware of such mod. He aware that replacing this would replace ALL rails on the route, so it might look odd on heavily used sections of track.
Good evening all. This will hopefully the last post from me before the well anticipated pack is E2G Enhancement Pack is released. Below is a quick slideshow of screenshots showing what I've modded to the actual route itself: Inclusion of fencing at Queen Street station on the platforms. A new realistic shade of Scottish red ballast A reskinned Mercedes Sprinter Van sporting the Scotrail livery, as well as a new static Bus mesh to replace the ridiculously inaccurate default model. I think that's covered what I've done route-wise, it definitely isn't as comprehensive as what LondonMidland has done as I've basically focused about 90% of my time improving the flawed 385. Anyway, keep an eye out for a TSC link here very soon. Thank you all for the tremendous support, it has been a lot of fun to do this one! Enjoy!
More hyped for this patch then the route itself honestly. Also I couldn't until now put my finger on what was different then the TSC Thompson route, but it was defiantly the red ballast. Looks properly Scottish.
The mod will be uploaded and ready to go in a couple of days, once I get back home. Not long to wait now guys!
its worth the wait folks this will be epic can not wait to showcase it on my you tube channel ill link it on here when ive done the gameplay folks
i’ve heard that the upcoming update for the route will feature additional lights in stations and many many many more updates so will you guys be waiting for the update from rivet before releasing the enhancement pack or will you do it before
Enhancement will be uploaded soon, LondonMidland is currently away and will upload it as once he's back.

Thanks! We're not sure how the upcoming update will affect the mod, however if it does break it, I'll try and get it working again. All I can say is wait and see what happens at this moment in time.
Amazing, simply amazing, I ran one of the Dunblane services in the dark and signals were very visible and station lighting was much improved. Well done both of you, now have to do a day time service to check out the updated ballast colour. Also a little something for your efforts.
Have now done a daylight run, the new ballast colour is nice, though I have no idea what it really should look like. Signals in the day time also seem to be greatly improved. Overall, nively done both of you.
haymarket follow the rails to the west and you see the extra track line wich is the tram line there are 3 stations on that line if you follow the fence you can even get to the tram stops there is a gap you can enter
Thank you for this I will explore. And excellent work on the route londonmidland and spattyheath looks sexy well done.
you can even stand inside the tram just enter through a passenger door you can not sit in a chair and only move a little bit inside you can take a ride that way too
I bought this dlc yesterday so I downloaded this mod and the sound mod and it really looks beautiful. The lighting at the depot, glasgow and edinburgh is amazing. Haven't discovered everything yet but it really makes the route more playable and enjoyable
OK guys and gals, has anyone verified that is mod runs with the new Rivet update? I have not had a chance yet to test it. Got to it sooner than expected, no issues noted between the mod and the patch. It looks like we still have the pink ballast.
While on the subject of E2G mods; make sure you don't have the "!Laika-Class385-SlightlyFasterCPBC" mod installed after the last update as it causes all services to be undriveable. At first I thought it was this mod, but it's in the clear No issues reported using this mod I have found so far
Has anyone else run into another possible mod incompatibility with this one since the recent update? Every time I press the key to switch to the 'head-out' exterior camera, it does this (zooms right into the display & the camera will 'free move' around the inside of the cab):
Mine is not doing that with the mod, and I need to correct myself from my previous post - I purged every mod out of the game & left the default PAK files alone in the DLC folder. The 385 still does what I posted in the picture. There's a bug in the updated default route file, it seems.
Hello all, I'm just going to really quickly bump this thread. I've just updated the EDN EP so that it now works for TSW4, there's been a couple of changes here and there to the mod but it's mostly just been fixes to get it to work properly. Thanks & enjoy! https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...e-edinburgh-to-glasgow-route-enhancement-pack
