I think the train sim community have been begging for this route long enough now to DTG, but here is my version of the route in detail. Traction: Class 315 Class 345 This route will be set in 2020 when the fleet of aventras started showing up and when the class 315 started leaving The route Itself: This route will stretch from Reading to Abbey wood to make it easy for the DTG team they can rip of the TSW Great western express give it a modern 2020 revamp and carry on from there which will lead to great western express having the new lighting and a possible Class 800 and S stock for A.I use but not for great western express. Like the isle of white you will still be able to play the original 2017 GWE but there is a modern DLC with an IET and S stock trains which is called reading rampage. A possible TSW4: The new revamped GWE could lead to TSW4 with the elizabeth line going into heathrow terminals with reskined class 387's by DTG in a Loco bundle with a class 222 for MML and whatever german and US locos the community wants. What DTG can do with the stagecoach license for this route: AT reading there are platforms for SWR trains like the class 444 and 450 so for A.I use DTG could use this license to there advantage and fill platforms with SWT trains as they have the stagecoach license needed thought this may cause lag with the other trains included in this. (this will be in SWT livery) Please leave any other suggestions or thoughts in the comments
Paddington to Abbey Wood is ATO, so the player would only be opening and closing the doors. Reading to Paddington and Liverpool Street to Shenfield would be better options, but the bit in the middle would be kind of pointless as a simulator (and yes I know in certain situations the driver can take over etc, but why make something just to have it completely not true to life)?
Heathrow Airport is a long standing problem due to licensing and security issues, being unlikely to be included in TSW anytime soon. That then leads to the other issue, what to do about the GWE branch lines between Paddington and Reading. A good suggestion but I can't see it coming in the foreseeable future. As a interim measure, just give GWE the long overdue TLC and some DLCs too. One of very few UK routes that has never been reworked or properly added to. A real shame considering this is the original UK route.
This would be cool But how about the Shenfield and the Heathrow Branches? That would be good, and it aint likely that TSW4 Isn't coming over the coming years
Bring it on and remember the underground section is ETCS overlaid on CBTC therefore you must play it like a Glasgow Subway train simulator classic or Thameslink Farringdon tunnels Which is also ETCS overlaid on CBTC
This route isnt for now its for coming into 2024 and 2025 but if they dont have the liscience I thought as DTG has a reputation for being quite lazy in ts classics and tsw I thought id make it easier but I would like a branch to shenfeild and other places as well
