It really shouldn’t take much to fettle steam up a bit. I mean really, what would it take to tame the physics a little bit and have Simugraph properly recognise boiler water and fire level/temperature plus coal and water consumption from the tender.

Heck at this point I would actually welcome a GWR Hall, West Country Pacific (rebuilt) or some small tank engines using pretty much the mechanism we have now.

I just hope that under the hood, DTG really are beavering away on a revival of steam to celebrate 200 years of passenger rail transport in the UK. Would be absolutely ludicrous to let this event go unmarked by the technology which started it all.

It certainly would be ludicrous and I am certain there are members of the DTG team who share a passion for steam traction and have a desire to resume development.

IMO doing steam-based railtour and/or loco packs for specific routes (like a GWR pack for WSR) would probably be the best approach to steam in TSW

I would be somewhat surprised if DTG don't announce anything for Railway 200. They gave use Flying Scotsman just because 2023 was her centenary year and I'm guessing they gave us Thomas because this year marks 80 Years since the first Railway Series book was published in 1945
