Revisionsdaten.de has data on when each loco was painted how, and this confirms Orientrot for 101 001...003. Looks like they wore it for quite a while too.
Yes, what Lamplight says is correct. The first couple of 101s were delivered in almost-traffic-red, new scheme but old color shade. There does not seem to be many photos (as dirty it looks rather similar), but you can clearly see it on the models, for example. https://www.reisezugwagen.eu/?p=15325
For someone with a color deficiency I can attest, I see absolutely no difference But it explains that I have never spotted it in the past... Thanks for sharing this info!
Would be a perfect opportunity to substitute the orient red one on linke Rheinstrecke with a slim chance for the 103 :P
I dug around a bit a found a nice picture that shows the colour difference. Picture Credit Comparing her red against the traffic red 143 (I assume) right behind her, you can notice the different shade of red. With the excellent lighting in this picture, you can even make it out by comparison with the traffic red bar on the coaches.
mkraehe#6051 already pointed to the appropriate resource for that: revisionsdaten.de According to that, 101 001-6 lost hers in October 2007 101 002-4 in October 2012 101 003-2 in August 2010 Longer than I expected, to be honest.
With the preview stream announced for next week I have to admit that I was seldom as curious to find out more about a DLC as this one. I really am looking forward to the stream, release and trying this one out for myself. Thanks to TSG to take the risk in jumping on a niche product to bring the experience further for us!
This loco is for me one of the most awaiting DLCs for TSW4... And how cool a preview with a real loco driver
What Ive been asking my self what kind of "Störungen" can we expected? Do Anyone know what can happen with a loco and cabcar and what is a common error that can brake the train? What i have... - Door faults - (head)lights - pressure fail - PZB/LZB
Same here. I’ve probably got as many hours in the 101 as I have for all the rest of my DLC put together. So I’m really looking forward to this DLC. I don’t normally watch previews live, but the fact they’ve brought in a real 101 driver is excellent. So if I’m free then I’ll definitely be watching.
I can't wait to see this expert version of TSG's BR101, which once again sets a very high level. Very excited about this live.
I know this 101 will be extremely complex and will unfortunately mean not a lot of people will find it appealing but I still hope this does well, I’d like to see more trains done to this level in future. Would it not be satisfying to go from having to refer to the manual for help to finally getting right and knowing how to fix a problem every time?
There's going to be an easy mode. Expert mode is optional and you can play it like any other piece of rolling stock
Idk about you but if I’m gonna pay extra money for an expert loco I’m gonna at least attempt to drive it like an expert. Obviously it’s everyone’s choice how they wanna drive it but I’d wanna make use out of everything it has to offer, even if it means failing 10+ times
DTG has already confirmed it will be a higher price than a normal dlc... So i think it Coast around 20/25€. And you can run it also in the mode that always exists in TSW... Expert Mode is an extra additional Option. You can turn it on or off in the display on the loco it self
PzB / LZB faults for sure i think, also i can immagine traction problems where you need to cut off the motors. Faults doesnt necessarily mean there is something defect. Lets say the 101 / Cab formation enters a head railway station and for some reason the driver forgets to close the brake key and leaves the brake lever in release. Technically even now without the expert line after you enter the other end, you can prepare your train and end up in a situation that your loco is filling the brake pipe from the other side. Very dangerous situation at speed, where only a "schnellbremsung" can bring you to a stop in time. The brake valve still reaches a full brake force against a filling valve, but you will have a brake distance beyond whats can called safe. - Display faults - Pantograph fault - Freezing of the mechanical brake shoes in winter - Schleppfahrt - Compressor Fault There are a lot of possibilities, looking forward to whatever will come
