Just coming back from a long SimRail session, seeing this and thinking why the hell DTG's stuff is so amateurishly done. Some guy just put a green texture on the gauges here... a total beginner. Don't care how it looks, just sell it... folks will buy it anyway. This strategy always worked for them.

That's what I love about SimRail - the quality across the locos is consistently high even in its early stage. They look, sound and feel just right.

Same, however buying the same loco 3 times on 50% sale makes you spend 1,5 x full price.

I don't think they can with how each dlc is built. They are each treated as a separate game and having one standard version might cause problems

Well isn't that just exactly the problem. And they also stopped the preservation crew who were responsible for looking after existing content and doing some element of version control.

As soon as that happened you can forget having all the ducks in a row and matching features, no-one is going to spend time doing that when they can be working on new content to sell to people.

Yes stopping the preservation crew was the real tell as to where the priorities lie. It was always going to be a bigger and bigger resource required because over time there is more and more existing content. But instead of scaling it up, they got rid of it completely.

How many threads are there complaining about bad things in TSW which have been there for years, sometimes there is an attempt to fix it but if that doesn't work - and often it makes it worse! Then that is it.

I've always said the existing content shouldn't be dead content because there will always be new players who don't have the back catalogue and will want to buy it, but if they are met by negative reviews and people calling it abandonware then they won't bother. After a while the bulk of your output is in that category and your brand is getting tarnished. The TSW should function as a virtual trainset. If one piece isn't working right it should be getting fixed not stuck away in a box never to be touched.
