Just a shame that Rivet released Fife Circle too early and in the state it was in, just like WCL and most of their routes. Thankfully the mods have improved it, but why have Rivet taken so long to do anything. Pity there is no console improvements as well, as those players have to play it in its current state.

    Phil wait for a sale.

Well I only bought WCL when you did your first foliage update, imo default WCL is in a worse state than default Fife!

Same, I just caved and bought it. At least I got 10% off for having the misfortune to own all the other Rivet routes.

Search for Rivet Games Mega Bundle. It was offered to me on the Fife Circle Page.

When I saw "Static level crossing gates and fencing added where missing (hopefully a temporary measure)" in the changelog, I wasn't expecting this level of effort to have been put in.

Once again a fantastic job by all of you!

Well, I decided to go for it - I also got the discount for owning all the other Rivet DLCs, and have to say just really enjoyed taking an HST down and into Edinburgh Waverley. Not just the scenery, but the modified timetable - great to see so much traffic, especially in the last few miles and into a busy Waverley itself.

I’m not regretting my purchase at all. I did the same as you but in the opposite direction for my first drive. The HST is my favourite train and it looks so good in Scotrail livery.

What a fantastic mod. Coming out or Edinburgh the traffic was excellent, parallel running with a 385 for a bit. Then seeing a variety of other traffic including the 800.

I spotted so my many little details on the rest of the route I wouldn’t know where to start mentioning them.

Fantastic job. Bravo to all that we’re involved in this. Another route saved by the modding community.

One thing I'm curious about - in the 800, is needing to switch to diesel beyond Haymarket prototypical, or just a quirk of the way it needed to be modded to get it to work on the route?

EDIT: Never mind, just realised that the actual Fife Circle isn't electrified :)

Yep Haymarket station is where they all switch over in reality. Even says as much in the WTT.

Yes really, but that post was referring to a previous mod of his. I've downloaded this one and thoroughly enjoyed racing a 385 on an HST (despite the lack of bagpipes...lol). Well done to all, and I sincerely hope it inspires Rivet to up their game.

There are bagpipes in the mod, just better ones than the default. They're based on the time of day and month too so you won't always hear them.

There’s also 3 separate songs if you hang around to listen

12:00 midday in July you are guaranteed to hear them.

Excellent work, I may have to purchase this route in the near future.
Quick question, how's the signalling on this route, have they implemented approach control (if it indeed exists in real life in the route)? The reason I ask is that apparently they didn't include it in E2G, also I've noticed via some YT vids some dodgy looking shunt signals at Haymarket (lit when a green is also lit) as well as somewhere else in the route.

Rivet don't know what approach control is unfortunately. Maybe DTG can show them.

Fawx's timetable has go via commands similar to the Blackpool route to fake approach control from red.

The only other issue is that call on signal which lights with the main aspect coming north out of Haymarket.

This mod transforms a mediocre (let's be generous) route into one of the best Modern British routes. Highlights for me were: container ships on the Forth; aircraft at the airport; the genius ability to select a 385 timetable run from Glasgow and find yourself (magically) in Queen Street; much improved trackside scenery; and the 'next destination' display in the 800 cab works (although it did get a little confused, sometimes showing the next destination but one).

    Chapeau to all those involved!

I think it's not essential for the mod to work, but if you have Gospel Oak it will take the food vending machines from that route.

No. I think I’m right in saying that at this point there’s actually nothing from Goblin on the route. There was, and I had used the new vending machines but as they’re available on East Coast Mainline as well I switched to them instead (as I figured many more people will own that DLC).

There were some nice new assets on Goblin that might make an appearance at some point (like the new bike racks) but we’ll try and keep Goblin assets to a minimum, and only where the assets don’t exist on a more widely owned route.

BTW, In case anyone wondered why the scenery only works on this timetable here’s why. We couldn’t figure out why some assets would work on some routes and not on others when bescot had a epiphany and realised that a loco / unit from the route you wished to use needs to be ‘active’ in the timetable to allow the use of that routes assets. We have ‘add-on mangler’ to thank for that.

So cleverly hidden somewhere in Fawx’s timetable are units from other DLC’s (you won’t find them so don’t waste time looking :D) but their presence allows the use of their native routes assets on the timetable and, as you can’t place these units into the default timetable, we can’t have the same scenery on it. Hopefully that makes sense it kinda does to me!

‘Add-on mangler’ :D - has there been any benefit to pc users of having the add-on manager inflicted upon us? It’s clearly given modders a lot of headaches.

Many thanks to all the modders on the Fife enhancement pack, it convinced me to buy the dlc today, sadly only Rivet will benefit from that!

Lol…some of my loading times are excruciatingly slow now…was wondering if putting TSW & its associated files on an dedicated SSD might help improve loading times?

I mean it will probably help yeah, but will still be slower than if we didn't have Addon Manager.
I have TSW installed on a fast NVME SSD, and the initial startup still takes a noticeable period of time.

Here’s a video of a run up the coast towards Aberdeen in the Class 800, demonstrating the power changeover at Haymarket. There are also genuine announcements added in for good measure. Enjoy!

Really Good work from the pics and will definetly pick up the mod at some point. Also like details like the level crossing as construction side

Still going with a "no buy" until the dlc is 85+% on sale. Rivet doesnt get a buck for their shambolic below minimalism standard release. Im purchaising this at the heaviest sale possible in about 6 months to 1 year.

Thats how it is...., commented from a former day1 dlc customer of every single dlc. Rivet wont get any further chance from me, ill just skip all their creations to get them later. Same for many Dtg dlcs.

Yeah they’re external as many of the announcement mods on TSC are. We’ll probably put them up as part of v2, whenever that may be.

My deep respect to all that made this possible.

Anyone succesfully fighting the protectionistic and painful AddonBlocker in the Orwellian disguise as "AddonManager" deserves my highest appreciation on top of that. Maybe one day a skilled hacker can disable the code completely, or creators will turn their back on TSW.

Thank you bescot, JetWash, Fawx, londonmidland and ROB S!

    Surely worth a donation!

I might be mistaken, but I’ve a feeling they’re invisible hence why looking would be a waste of time. I’m sure Fawx could confirm or scotch that rumour :)

pps If anyone has any inkling at all as to what it is that triggers the announcements on the 170 please let us know. We’re pretty sure it’s markers on the track but something needs to start the ball rolling initially and unfortunately we can’t figure it out despite many hours of trying. I really miss them!

Addon Manager should never have been imposed on PC (or Xbox) when there was no need for it. It was really only required for PS5 due to Sony’s self-imposed 64Gb DLC limitation.

Only DTG manges trying to solve a console specific limitation and create a huge problem, spreaded along all platforms.

Just a pathetic negligent poor decision making (somebody has to say it loud what it is!). They try to pretend up to nowadays that there isnt any substitution problem since tsw4, breaking the entire work of modders with that addon manager.

I for my self stopped being a supporter of tsw since tsw4. A few very good routes are exceptions, beside that i dont regret closing my wallet to DTGs "solutions"

I choose my platform to not get across any problems / restrictions of other platforms. DTGs dumbassy manages to deliver the ps5 problems right into pc players (not affected) ground.
